This literally gets me through the hardest times when I am away from the bush. I have been in the Netherlands for two years and this channel gets my feet up next to the fire and against the fence in Kruger even if only as long as I keep my eyes closed. Thanks a lot.

Hi Trending Tigers, 95% of these are our original recordings from our travels. The other small portion of them are from other contributors. 😊

Thanks for these videos, help me focus immensely. Some sounds:
    17:17, 34:30, 1:23:00 (faint), 1:42:21, 1:58:49 (faint) - hyena
    21:54, 22:08, 1:25:15 (faint) - lion
    1:01:24, 1:19:35, 1:55:52, 2:09:12 - bushbaby / galago (thick-tailed?)
And some others I am not definite of:
    1:02, 40:05 ? Verraux's eagle owl
    29:36, 49:17 ? Spotted eagle owl
    30:36 ?? Skukuza staff dogs??
    42:35, 46:13, 1:50:23, 1:53:57, 2:03:36 - bushbabies
    1:17:25 - 1:25:15 - something eating, probably ellies?

and is the high-pitched, regular 'beep' between 44:33 and 47:22 a Wahlberg's epauletted fruit bat?

Brilliant konagirl 😊 Thanks for listing all the sounds you heard 👍🏼 We're so glad to hear that you enjoy our videos.
Regarding the Bushbaby, yes it is the Thick-tailed, and those must have the the staff dogs. Not quite should what was eating or moving around the microphone that night, but I remember seeing buffalo in that area just before sunset, so it might be them 👍🏼
      All the best!

Most of south africa gets very cold during their winter, especially at night. If you sleep in tents that effect is magnified and you can find yourself shivering inside the tent at night, despite wearing warm clothes and having proper blankets.

    • @DestinationAudio
      @DestinationAudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

It definitely can 👍 But on the flip side, even though the nights are cold, the days are very hot 😊

...and this is how hubby and I get through 14 days obligatory hotel quarantine, in the confines of our hotel room at Chek Lap Airport HK. Not even a window to open : (

What is that at 40:01 and continuing intermittently for the next couple of minutes? I thought at first hippo, but it's not deep enough and doesn't come with other identifying hippo sounds.

Hi Vincent, that is a Verreaux's Eagle-owl. Such a beautiful sound.

@@DestinationAudio great! Thank you. I'm sure I've heard it before in the bush in Kenya and Tanzania but couldn't quite place it. So soothing to listen to bush sounds from a loft in Glasgow Scotland to remind me of the many years I spent living and working in the bush.

What is that at 1:01:24? Some kind of bush baby?

    • @DestinationAudio

Hi Byron, yes, that is indeed a Thick-tailed Bushbaby. Good spot!
