Donte will be great in finchy scheme, dont forget we turned NAW from being below average to being a key part of our run last year, he was keeping us in games with his 3 alone, Donte will thrive in that roll this year
Key piece of the trade for the MN side. I don't care if he's a star or not, he's going to be a solid as hell rotation player that gives the Wolves some depth that they lost in the offseason.
@@Fortune332Who did the wolves lose in depth? Anderson was it. They gained the #8 pick and Terrence Shannon Jr is ready made for the NBA. Plus Joe Engles.
You really won the trade because of Donte DiVincenzo. This man is the most locked in and intense player I've seen in a long time. Super efficient! This man is a Daaaaawg!! DiVincenzo had the stuff to play in NYC. Nothing gets in his head!
I honestly think Donte is the X factor in this trade, don’t forget that the timberwolves biggest problem in the mavs series was scoring down the stretch. They got Dillingham in the draft and now they have a 15ppg sharpshooter. Maybe Kat was a good shooter and it’s a different situation having a big who can space the floor but Donte is probably a better shooter. Wolves already had arguably the best bench in basketball and now it even better but I know we could talk about this forever so I’ll just wait and let the basketball do the talking and hopefully as a wolves fan I’ll be right 😂
This guy is exactly what we were missing in the Western Conference Finals … the consistent scoring will complement Edwards beautifully. GREAT addition to the Wolves!
As a wolves fan it makes me happy that we finally got some more guards in dillingham and Donte. Now we won’t have to run Mike Conley to death and he can sit out some games😂
This guy has one of the best contracts in the league. just 35 mil over the next 3 seasons. If the Ant-DDV-Jaden-Naz-Gobert lineup can get their playmaking right they will have no weaknesses. I bet the Bucks are still regretting giving up Divincenzo for a washed Serge Ibaka who did very little for them.
I appreciated KAT but felt it was time to feature Naz Reid. Sometimes, particularly in BB, stats don't tell the full story. This was a good trade; TBH...I'd like to see us move Julius Randle for future assets.
@@michaelswenson6599 who knows. Maybe one of the Summer League studs; maybe the guy who replaced Slow Mo (Ingels?). Too many NBA teams get bogged down on the “Big Hat, No Cattle” players. There’s a gross overvaluation of the marquee names. We had a much better flow in those 50 games that KAT was on injured. But in the playoffs, particularly against Dallas, we looked flat and mechanical. I trust the talent evaluation of Tim Connelly.
Donte & Naz battling for the 6th man of the year all season gonna be a movie .but wouldn't be shocked if by the playoffs he's starting next to ant in the backcourt especially If conley take a step back in production
Agreed, KAT was really good but MAN did I hate watching him try to post up. I also hated that our center was standing out at the 3 point line all game. He struggled a lot of the playoffs and he has become injury prone. Wolves win this trade.
He along with Naz will be key pieces in the rotation. He will take Slow-mo’s place except he can shoot the 3. Both him and Naz over 40%. Without KAT will be much more floor spacing. KAT will be a monster with the pick and roll in NY.
It's funny bc it looks like he's only getting like 15-20 min a game, same as he would with the Knicks. A nice rotation piece, can give you a 25 pt game here and there but not a star. 3s occasional drive to the rim and improving perimeter D. From a Knicks fan that's what Min is getting.
Knicks just wasted a championship player in Donte. I have a hard time Believing JB even let this happen. Donte got a late pro start after his injury with the Bucks but grew into a star over the last year and he hasn't hit his ceiling. If they don't give him the minutes they should just trade him to someone who will. Warriors would love him to start at 2 with Curry.
Due to our depleted roster deep into the playoffs last year and the fact that we were playing with rotations heavy into matchups kind of last minute, a lot of these shots divicenzo took were unplanned and he went with the flow. Next year teams are going to start drawing out plays to specifically guard him and well see if he becomes this star. He will be missed in NYC but our teams ceiling has skyrocketed with the addition of KAT. Oh...and we aint done makin moves
A star? I'm sorry, Ant is the starting 2. This is likely Conley's last year as a starting PG. They just drafted Dillingham to learn from Conley and hopefully replace him. Naz is still the 6th man. I don't see how people are saying Randle will come off the bench when he's a 3 time all star? So that makes Dante like the 7th or 8th man in the rotation. NAW is honestly almost as good as Dante. So how is Dante supposed to become a "star" when he will play 20 minutes or less per game?
The flow this team had when KAT was out with that late season injury necessitated this trade. Kat's an excellent offensive player/rebounder, but he wasn't the better "fit" for the explosive/transition game powered by Ant & Co: Naz Reid's DEFINITELY the better fit. The 3 time all-star tag for Randle may or may not be the case going forward (given his injury history)....we'll have to see how he meshes with an up-tempo play style. Either way, Randle's deal is far less restrictive than KAT's. If nothing else this move provides Connelly with the cap space to keep tinkering. I honestly think he'll try and parlay this deal into a play for Ant's favorite player of all time - Kevin Durant...
@@marinz4life It will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets for sure. NAW is already the back up SG but maybe they give NAW minutes at the backup SF spot? Trades can always happen in the future as well but having 2 good back up shooting guards in NAW and Divo is a good problem to have...
Dillingham to DD. Randle should be the 6th man. Should be. Who knows what politics will do. But those two and either Naz or Randle is a problem for anyone's 2nd team.
Donte & ant 2 man Game will be crazy best thing is he's under contract for multiple years although his addition bad news for naw likely means naw won't have a role at times curious if naw ends up getting traded at some point for more of a sf or pf
Steph Curry said Donte can play with anyone. Translation: he adjusts to people and moments. He will make Minnesota better. The STAR hype is just click bait.
As a Knick fan divo well I’m not sure he can become a star. The problem is when divo is hot which is like 30 percent of the time he is Steph curry but when he is cold 70 percent of the time he will shoot the twovles to a lost missing every shot he shoots
Everybody talking about how this gives the Knicks the best starting 5 in the league (maybe, maybe not. They have no depth now) but everybody’s overlooking that now Minnesota has two of the top 3 bench guys in the league. Easily the best top 7
I don't see where he's getting minutes on the timberwolves squad playing the same position as Antman and NAW. He's going to be a situational piece. I'm not doubting his talent but come on, Minnesota is guard heavy as it is at the 2. Maybe he can play the point but he's better as the 2 guard from everything I've seen. Anthony Edwards already experimented playing the point and it wasn't the prettiest. Having both of them on the court would be great but with no true point in their offense, it creates a lot of issues as seen when Conley wasn't on the floor. Dudes a baller but Minnesota isn't his long term destination.
@2:18 who provided that besides Ant you ask…? How about NAW and his electric slide. He hit some crazy shots off the dribble the last couple years he just doesn’t take those shots on high volume.
