The amount of labor, time and the cost to do this would be enormous. Also, passenger trains share freight train tracks in most of the US so the slower freight trains would impede the faster passenger trains.

After all, a suitable train has already been developed with the Amtrak Acela and there are also a few high speed routes. But of course it is impossible to catch up with the network after such a long time.
I also see a problem in the infrastructure and the landscape and especially the size. High-speed trains only make sense with electric drives - or with magnetic levitation technology. Who is going to build them cost-effectively through the desert and mountains like the Rocky Mountains or the Grand Canyon? And who operates and maintains them? How do you ensure reliability in the dense and extremely cold winters? And the even more crucial question: who is going to use them when even the fastest train in the world at 430 km/h still takes twice as long as a normal commercial aircraft that doesn't hinder anyone other on its way.
The stupidest thing Rockstar ever done was put train in the game and can't operate them unlike "san Andreas " when you could i play that game more then gta5

Totally unrealistic, as the steam engine would be able to use these tracks but the SNCF Train a Grande Vitesse would be sitting on the tracks, dark, silent and still, as NONE of these rail lines have an electric catenary which is required for high speed travel.

For the TGV installation : 1.Open OpenIV, make sure you already have the "mods" folder and enable edit mode 2. Copy "tgv" folder to \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks 3. Open the dlclist.xml file that's located in : \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data and then add a new line dlcpacks:\tgv\ on the bottom of the lists 4. Copy trains.xml to : \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\common.rpf\data\levels\gta5
