I feel like the game would be 10 times better if we had active trains using these tracks as well as the main railways. Of course being able to drive them also. Like they did with San Andreas back in the day.

A train that goes from LA to Chicago and then on to, say the Port of Baltimore, just has to be recrewed instead of having the locomotives swaped out for the home road. This can avoid needless delays in getting the cargo to its destination efficiently. Gamer response: Looks cool!
Sometimes railroads will lease equipment from other companies especially if going from one State to another. I've seen Norfolk Southern on Union Pacific intermodels and CSX I think depends on starting and ending point
