The hunger games are still amazing books and they definitely stand the test of time. I dont think they are just " one more YA dystopian series that succeded" but it's a really important, impactul and beautiful story, with such and relevant message. I think many people that have read when they were younger should reread it now because it certainly improves upon rereading it .
I definitely need to revisit it at some point!
You've got loads of great fantasy books on this list! ✨ The Hobbit and The Name of the Wind are some of my favorites as well! 😊

YES!! Finally someone's talking about The Shadow of the Wind! I know it's popular book but sometimes I feel like it should be talked about more because it definitely deserves ALL the love!! I've always loved reading and I can't remember times I haven't been reading but I feel like this book made me fall in love with books even more! So it's good to see someone else hyping it!
And you definitely need to continue on with the series! I bought the last installment (The Labyrinth of Spirits) in Spanish last year but it's so huge and I doubt my level of Spanish is enough to understand it all so yeah.. I've been staring at it on my shelf ever since :D
It’s a weird one where loads of people love it but barely anyone talks about it! Myself included a lot of the time aha. Yeah the last one is ginormous, it’s intimidating. Fingers crossed I actually continue at some point soon 😂

Yes, I totally agree with you about Sarah J Maas!! I read Tower of Dawn and loved it even though I was expecting otherwise. And you made me very excited to read The priory of the orange tree.

I agree with the comment below!!!! I literally just finished re-reading the first book a few days ago for the first time in 10 years. I was also worried I wouldn't love it as much as I did back then but it is 100% just as amazing!!

I’m 45 and I’m trash for Sarah J Mass books too - absolutely love them. You might like The Ancient Future trilogy. It’s an oldie but a goodie!

I read Circe and Song of Achilles in the first months of 2019 and enjoyed them so much that I now want to read all the greek mythology books and retellings I can find. A few days ago I started Silence of the Girls and so far I really like it as well. I might have to see if I can find the copy of the Odyssey you talked about as so far it has still been a bit intimidating to attempt it. I also just found your channel a little while ago and am really looking forward to hear about all the mythology books and retellings :)
Aw that’s amazing! Another fab author for Greek retellings is Natalie Haynes - she has two books and I adore them both! You definitely came for the right place for retellings aha 🙌🏻

Ahh I am reading priory of the orange tree now, on kindle which I usually never do, especially with big books, but it’s so good and I’m at 15% so idk what page number that equates to. Anyway it’s going to be one of my new favorites. I’m getting the same feelings about it as the song of ice and fire series by GRRM, which I see you also loved. Looks like I’ll have to try the bone season next
My top 3 reads of the decade were ACOTAR series, SoIaF series, and cartwheel by Jennifer Dubois, ahh and Fire by Kristen Cashore is a close runner up

I read Circe last year and absolutely loved it. I've always been fascinated with Greek Mythology too and am loving all the recent retellings that are coming out!

I would highly recommend revisiting The Hunger Games at some point. I was completely over them, I guess?? And I'd lumped them in with all the other YA I'd read in my teens that didn't stand the test of time. But I reread them last year and I was wowed by how good they still were!
I’ll have to give it a go when I’m in the mood for a reread!
I can give you my top two: A Man Called Ove and One in a Million Boy. I wouldn't have read either if someone hadn't said to read them without looking at the synopsis. I am so grateful for that advice as I love both books.

I thought Night Circus would have been your number 1, I just finished this the other day and oh my god 😧🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I bloody adored this book. I thought the characters were fantastic and the whole concept was brilliant.
I knew Bone season would hit your top spot on the list, you’ve inspired me to buy it and I will be hitting it next month as you have made it sound something totally phenomenal. I’m looking forward to getting in to this new series x

Sarah J. Maas changed my mind with Tower of Dawn! I totally put down the series for 2-3 years because she wrote Tower of Dawn, and I hated Chaol
