Glad I played this on the PC. So much sharper (played 1280 x 1024 on 17" CRT via RGB component cable) and more vibrant colours than on PS2. This game was the one I loved the most and the one I would pay a full $59 price for if it were to be remade with RDR2 version of engine

That Demolition mission was a pain in the ass when I first played the game back in '02. Love the game and I just beat Vice City recently and I beat the Demolition mission with ease.
Vice City has the best gun sounds of the ps2 era GTAs. San Andreas guns all sound like toys, it's jarring. Not to mention the atmosphere, vibe, aesthetic and soundtrack of Vice City. It's flawed but it's my favorite.
I really enjoyed Vice City, but it has it's shortcomings. Of course this is down to personal preference, but I just didn't enjoy the new city. First island is nice, but the second large island just felt uninspired. And for me the city / world is always the main character in the GTA games. It should be a place where you feel like you're just a visitor. So far the one that really nailed it for me both story, gameplay and worldwise is GTA IV.
If GTA 6 is set in Vice City, they should definitely include a more Georgia/ Florida Okefenokee swamp area with the Everglades full of Aligators. Although if they were to set GTA 6 there, they’d have a lot of work on their hands. Modern day Miami doesn’t really appear in the limelight much. I know very little about it
"8 hours to beat"? Bro, most people ain't speedrunning. Love your channel, btw. You give us insight and trivia that meshes well with the review, making any review about a past game worth watching.
Even though Vice City has superior cutscenes and more colourful characters, I actually prefer GTA III, as far as the narratives go. VC completely loses focus after Tommy kills Diaz. The supposed focus is building the business empire at that point, although you're basically just resolving every subplot in town before Sonny arbitrarily comes to collect. The Printworks is the only side story that feeds back into the main plot, so a lot of the game just feels like one big, branching fuck-about, in retrospect. Every branch of GTA III's story missions fed back into the over-arching conflict with the Cartel. It also had three clearly-defined acts, with escalating challenges and stakes. Vice City puts more emphasis on player freedom by letting you play so much of the game in the order you choose, but it also sacrifices a satisfying structure, making the end of the game feel like the point they ran out of the ideas, rather than a genuine climax.
Man it's sad how much better this looks than the new trilogy release. Even if the fidelity/framerate isn't there, the visual style (especially on the PS2 version, I was surprised at how much even the original PS2/XBox/PC versions differed) is so distinct. The new versions look so generic in comparison. Especially Vice City & San Andreas.

So did u get 100 % ?
Please review the original GTA games including London.
This game was my gateway to the world of gta
I saved at the ice cream parlour all the time never had an issue and I was playing on PS2.
Going by in-game time does that mean songs last for hours in the gta universe?
I didn't like the controls in the console version. The shooting is terrible and there are some really annoying things going on in Vice City. The atmosphere and everything else is pure gold tho. :)
Knut Kniffte 👍
My favorite game of all time
Excellent review pal👍
i like vice city stories more because it was like gta sa, but i still like vice city since i was a kid when i played it
Definitely underrated
Glad I played this on the PC. So much sharper (played 1280 x 1024 on 17" CRT via RGB component cable) and more vibrant colours than on PS2. This game was the one I loved the most and the one I would pay a full $59 price for if it were to be remade with RDR2 version of engine
Rockstar payed the news media to talk shit about the gta series to boost up sales and hype
??? ??? Really? Sounds kinda strange
It's true
They did but only for the first game.
"It's true" shows literally zero sources.
Max payne 1 was not developed by rockstar. it was developed by remedy games. the rights were acquired by take two to develop a sequel (max payne 2) and rockstar only developed max payne 3 a decade later
Thank you for spelling colour correctly

love your reviews man
That Demolition mission was a pain in the ass when I first played the game back in '02. Love the game and I just beat Vice City recently and I beat the Demolition mission with ease.
Great nostalgic reviews, man!
Thanks!

Vice City has the best gun sounds of the ps2 era GTAs. San Andreas guns all sound like toys, it's jarring. Not to mention the atmosphere, vibe, aesthetic and soundtrack of Vice City. It's flawed but it's my favorite.
I love how he says " G-D-A III or Vice City"

look closely at the helicopter, the pilot is lance vance dance!
Yo this game was hard as a kid
this is the first gta game i ever played, hell, this is the first game i ever even played and im so proud it is,i just love this game its amazing
I ❤️ GTA vice city such a great atmosphere!
I know very little about it
The best thing from gta vice city were the radio stations
Agreed
Your channel is so solid. You produce great content. I found your channel by chance and I love it.
This came out the day of my birthday
Man it's sad how much better this looks than the new trilogy release. Even if the fidelity/framerate isn't there, the visual style (especially on the PS2 version, I was surprised at how much even the original PS2/XBox/PC versions differed) is so distinct. The new versions look so generic in comparison. Especially Vice City & San Andreas.
Xbox version is better. Never had that disc problem.
You make really great content! gem of a channel
