Enjoying Ray for six decades, I've concluded that he's never been surpassed, comically AND musically. Either talent can stand on its own. My wife & I have never grown tired of it. As many have mentioned "A NATIONAL TREASURE"! As an "audiophile", the sound quality of all his masterpieces, regardless of the year it's from, is almost as amazing as the man himself. The JOY that Ray brings, keeps him young. We picture him laughing out loud, as he develops each new piece. BTW, I am in a music related business. What a blessing Ray is, most especially during times like these. His musicians are always very amazing too.
My grandparents owned a restaurant, in the 70's. I put a lot of money in their jukebox. My favorite song was "the Streak". My grandfather hated that song. I cried when they took the song out. About a yr later, my grandfather had it put back in, just for me.
i have to say that I'm glad your grandfather had mercy on you and put that song back. He realized how much it meant to you to hear that silly song. Oh, by the way, "The Streak" is one of my favorites as well. It woul win Ray the Grammy,
Nothing like Ray Stevens!!!!! Only he can have the best there is and people still love to listen to his stuff it never goes out of style! No matter how old you get.
Man, this song is old….. I knew it was old and have been listening to it at least since the early to mid 80s but damn, that rotary-dial telephone in jail….. That cracks me up!
Ray, laid up in the Hospital and you make my stay tolerable. Would die laughing if you and Red Green (Tim Smith) ever collaborated and did a Show. You, Sir, tickle this old Marines funny bone. God Bless you🏄
I do this song all the time some people look at me all funny while others die laughing on it me again Margaret I grew up with his song all of them still a big kid at heart and will always be
I once knew a lady named Margaret. Her husband and my father were co-workers back in the day. Her husband is Facebook friends with me. By the way, he and Margaret are still married.
i finally just got the weedeater, chicken and cool whip gag that is funnnnnnnnny. and HE'S as cool i'm sure as weird al is but BEFORE there was al THERE WAS RAY. SEEN al live. NOW i'd love to see ray live and get his autograph and ask him WHICH is his favorite song he's done.
I once considered, when it occurred to me that most of my friends didn't get the joke, to stop saying "It's me again, Margaret." from time to time when they answer my phone call. It's a part of me though, always will be. I remember being a young boy, when my great grandmother got my voicemail she would occasionally do it too. This song is a part of my soul, I think and I'm happy if it is.
Rooster Floyd My whole family (there's 8 of us kids) including Mom and Dad (when they were still with us) have always done that!! "It's me again Margaret" heehee "are ya naked". So sweet you have that memory. Trust me man, it's part of your soul. Glad you're happy about that.
Yes sir. Kids these days will never know what it was like. I was born in 89. I've used the rotary phone, and the wall mounted corded phone. Didn't even know about Wi-Fi until like 2014.
You have to take in consideration that the song is considered a harassment song but back in the past when the song was released, harassment wasn't taken seriously as it is now.
I used to watch his comedy tapes all the time as a kid, and these songs are so much better than I remember

Vicki, you do realize that both songs could end up being banned due to how the metoo movement is.
