Correction to what I said at location 03:23: I SHOULD have said " That punch the A2 would be found on the opposite side of the case located in the same position you found your B2 punch on the other side. ( I said "B3 instead of B2"). This was also corrected in the subtitles. Thanks for your patience!!🙂

Really enjoying learning from your videos on the Staking Tool Set and for taking the time to make them and share your knowledge. Your style and way of presentation is perfect for learning and that's often rare on TH-cam. Slowly getting through your other videos and thoroughly enjoying them. Many thanks and well done.

Thank you so much for making these staking set videos! Like you mentioned, there really isn't a comprehensive TH-cam series about it. Just some basic tutorials but nowhere near the information you've given in this series. Now I just need to summon the motivation to actually organize my K&D set, as all the punches & stumps got jumbled around in shipping, and so it's all out of order 😅. Can't wait for more videos, and thanks again for the wealth of great content. Cheers! 🍻

I was frustrated when I first got my staking tool set back around 2000.. and even through the years, it has been hard to get information. That is why I decided to make these videos - to help others out as much as I can. Thanks for this very nice comment. You have motivated me to do many more videos on the staking tool! 🙂

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out in what order I need to put the stakes in the box. I have a diagram for the K&D but non for the CE Marshall set. So basically you’re putting A’s on the left, B’s on the right (left to right order).
I was trying to put them up to down order and it just kept confusing me 😂, like first row A2 at top and B2 in second row then start going down. My thinking was the companion punches would be side by side but it really confused me lol. I will try playing your video on slow motion and seeing if I can freeze frame and zoom in on your punches and try it that way. Thank you for the detailed explanation on each also !

Thank you so very much. That was a very helpful video. There is nothing out there and I have no clue what most of these strange-looking punches are for. I have a staking set with 100 punches and 20 little stumps (plus the punch removal hickey). It has no markings on the old wooden box, no letters or numbers on the punches, nothing, but it has most of them I need.

I am not familiar with these stumps. I recommend posting a picture of these on the FB group "Amateur Pocket Watch Repair" and see what feedback you get there.

Just a guess.. the stumps could be used for removing and replacing "friction fit" jewels.
