Wow, her hands and joints must hurt from the weight and being unable to move her fingers. I’ve been growing out my hair too, ever since my dad passed away in 2020. The last time I cut my hair was before the pandemic, early 2020 to an above-the-shoulder length. Now, it’s the longest I’ve ever had it at my waist. I don’t know when I’ll cut it but it’ll be when I’m ready. 😔
I’m sorry for your loss. At least with growing your hair you can donate it if you so choose, and you won’t need the assistance of others to perform daily tasks and self care routines that you would need if your nails were overgrown.
Consider it keeping a memory. You don’t have to donate it unless you want to. I still haven’t opened the last gift someone gave to me before they died. It’s too much knowing that’s the last gift I’ll ever receive.
Great story and an amazing accomplishment. I’ve seen her online over the years and I’ve watched her nails grow and nice to see she’s finally getting the recognition that she deserves.
How is this an accomplishment? She obviously has to have others do things for her, too numerous to detail, which is basically enabling her to continue to relive the grief of losing her daughter. I can’t imagine such a tragic loss, and I feel for the family. However, growing one’s nails, hair, etc., is passive. Anyone can do it, perhaps not to that extreme length. The award should go to the people who went above and beyond to assist her daily with life and continue to do so. I do hope she can learn to deal with her grief in healthier ways.
