    One very nice thing about a headless SDR is that you can install it close to your antenna and run as much ethernet (or fiber) as you need with no loss. In my case, that is a big advantage. Operate from anywhere! Love it.

      Me too. I've been too busy flying and not enough time on the air; I meant on HF.

      I'll be monitoring 7178 Khz. Here in Florida, I use the IC7610.

    Waiting on your video that follows a 7610 vs Sunsdr2 DX video, in that very last video we will watch you pack and ship off the 7610, looking forward to watch both video though.

      @@adriank1apd195 Adrian, no I sold the 101MP and decided to keep the 7610 so that I can remote HF to my Home QTH in Florida. I will bring the SunSDR2 DX to my other QTH to compliment my IC7300. I will use the 7300 primarily for Digital FT8 and the SundSDR2 DX for HF SSB.
      Happy New Year!

    As an environmental scientist studying the long term effects on the planet, I really wish companies would stop putting plastic wrapping on everything. But that aside, thanks for the video. I was looking into the SDR products as well and I liked the looks of the software but the I/O on the radio looks clunky. I get some of those choices for size reasons, but getting a TX ground for amplifier interfacing looks like a big PITA. Other than that and no good way to interface to an external automatic tuner (not that big of a deal for me) it looks like a very capable little SDR with a reasonable cost of like €2200 or something. Looking forward to hearing your impressions of this thing. Thanks for the video cap!

      I agree with connectivity from the SunSDR to my Amplifier. I had to order a db15 connector and make my own cable. 73's and Happy New Year!

    You think you can make a video how you hook it up to a external antenna tuner and so on. Please and thank you.

    Ok slightly off topic but my wife wants to know what make and pattern is that in your China cabinet ? I think what she’s telling me is that if I get her that pattern - service for 10 - then maybe we could talk about another radio.

      About the China Cabinet, I have no clue. It's my mom's and we picked it up from the goodwill shops last year.

    What made you decide to get the SunSDRDx2 vs other ones like the FlexSDR radios??

    • @DarrenN4VFR
      @DarrenN4VFR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rumors that Flex was going to shut down amateur radio sale and stick to government contracts. If 8nhad tondo it all over again, I would of ordered an Anan.

      @@DarrenN4VFR i see-im new to HAM radio and shopping for a good all in one transceiver then I saw the SDR options and I think they are more capable and can be handy if paired with a laptop but power supply would be the issue if going portable which may only happen rarely. I think the Yaesu FT991A is a good fit to tinker with everything vs the FT710 which is limited but wondering if it’s more worth going for the newest one out there. Looks like the ANAN is limited to HF and 6m only
