@@NintendoGamer2600 mk7 is a separate game from Mkwii, with different tting rules. All that pause buffering has been used for in mk7 so far is this and the rainbow road glitch, plus (if you count it) another gyro implementation on a CT. That’s all the usage of pause buffing so far.
@@symowebb Gyro is short for gyroscope, which in this case means when the 3DS is tilted in a certain direction, the kart will also tilt in that direction. It's a very forgotten mechanic of MK7. The reason why he's pausing so much is for a tactic called pause-buffering. It's used in a wide variety of games, here its implemented to allow you to make more precise inputs.

Ah ok that makes sense, I assumed it'd be possible without gyro but it'd make drifting way way way harder or just outright impossible and so gyro would be a far faster method of doing that cut

You could try the pasta with a mushrooms on the 2nd and 3rd lap
