Everyone has privileges depending on their circumstances.
The white privileges are there and vary in potency, person to person group to group in the country.
But that is one of many privileges. like being tall and being wanted more so than shorter men, having a lot of money and being treated better by people, ect.
We all have privileges, and to a majority of people have societal barriers we have to overcome as well(poor, amputee, language barrier, sight barrier, brown skin barrier). So it does exist however we should all be respected at base level for being a person. (It may be hard to see the wind, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist)

Maybe then I wouldn't be living in a broke down rv on a hidden lot in the woods as a 64 year old widowed grandmother who put herself through school and spent my life helping others working in medicine until I was injured!
I honestly have NEVER seen any difference in the way my kids and I were treated compared to my neighbors who were not melanin deficient! In fact, there were times I had to rely on the help of my neighbors! So I honestly have never seen or experienced "White Privilege". I HAVE seen "Moneyed Privilege" and I've seen it in ALL races of people - if they have money, it buys them Privilege! But poor whites have no privilege over poor blacks in my experience.

    • @TheSwissHillbilly

Bingo. And, there are other kinds of privilege. Being good looking and charming opens doors that would be shut against you otherwise, regardless of skin color. Then, there are advantages, such as intelligence and good health. If you have those, make smart choices and apply yourself, regardless of skin color, you will be successful.
That being said, privilege can only exist when others confer advantages upon you for a particular characteristic. U.S. laws do not. If anything, at this point, U.S. laws/programs/bureaucracy favor people of color and foreigners. I grew up in a rural, farming community in the upper Midwest. The demographic was nearly 100% white. Being white in a community of white people got you exactly ZIP.

    • @Muckylittleme
      @Muckylittleme 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Clearly equality is having the same rights at birth.
Equity is having the same opportunities at birth but that isn't a race issue it is a societal and class issue and if you want to correct you campaign for equality of opportunity not against mythical "white privilege"
Imagine poor whites calling every black that had more them "Black privileged," it could never happen so why is acceptable the other way around?
The reality is there underprivileged people and they need to be helped to the same standard of living as general population but then that standard of living is far from equal from individual to individual and a few dozen individuals and corporations own more than half the worlds entire wealth - why not campaign against that as privilege?
Oh because they are the ones that fund the PC social justice movements, Antifa and BLM who push the narratives that ordinray white people are to blame while they continue to live in absolute opulence.
They do exactly the same with so called Global Warming, every policy makes the rich richer and us poorer.
Rinse and repeat with the Covid polices and Ukraine war sanctions - all impoverish us but make them richer.
But then that's the plan, as WEF and Klaus Schwab say of the great reset, "You will own nothing and be happy"

Being of mixed race, I find it extremely hypocritical to be yelling for “equality” and against “hate speech” while at the same time judging people based on the color of their skin and shutting them down because they want to have open intellectual dialogue with everyone.
I have 3 teen daughter’s, they know both sides of my family, my father who is white and my mom who is Native American. One thing my mom told me growing up… “America has two history’s”. What she meant by that is, the people who came out here to get away from tyranny ( religious freedom) and those who came to just find gold( secular). Many people do not know true American history. In fact, after the civil war, some native Americans did not release their slaves( yes, native Americans owned black slaves ), as well as, some Northern upperclass black Americans own slaves. True equality is not “ well, it’s your turn now “ ( you know?) but rather… “ okay, we’re all in this together, we aren’t going to agree on everything but I respect you as a fellow human made in Gods image, and will not trample on your right to speak, even if it offends me or I just don’t agree with your ideas”. So, the protests were a few students who basically didn’t want Ben to come speak… they screamed, screeched, yelled.. it was so disrespectful to the students, from all backgrounds that were there and wanted to here from Mr. Shapiro. Anyway, I pray my children never act so entitled as to feel they have the right to stop others from voicing their opinions… or facts. ;)

@@sevengauge89 agree completely. I wanted to add this very point to my own comment as well however it felt to me that I'd basically made my point and didn't really feel like piling on the (obvious to most) additional facets of getting into the generational 'turns' of inequality. i.e., "I'm sorry my ancestors were horrible to your ancestors" etc., because then it starts to muddy the waters in the sense of trying to identify who within our current times can be precisely identified and then end up either crucified for the sins of the father, or conversely allowed to have their "turn" now for the injustices inflicted upon their lineage when in reality, and the temperance of common sense, those living in the here and now did not engage in, nor experience said injustice. I am bothered that it is somehow "my turn" to experience this ignorant train of thought during the present when I can say with complete confidence that none of my lineage engaged in taking a 'turn' at oppressing others throughout recent history, and yet, due to the actions of a powerful group of those who merely *resemble* my lineage, I am supposed to be held somehow accountable by the masses for (let's be real here) the fact that I am simply a straight white male and somehow am representative of all things that have kept other people from having their "turn". It's an extremely lazy solution, and a dangerous 'game' for anyone in this century to assume that they get to have a 'turn' of their own in this selfish and morbid game which oppresses people like myself. It can't even really be labeled as 'revenge' seeing as those who attempt to have their turn didn't appear until generations later. To clarify, even though there are definitely elements of race involved throughout the entire historical context of this subject, it really doesn't seem to be about race at all. It's about power and oppression of others. Realistically, we are *all* being oppressed on a hierarchical level more than anything to do with strictly only race.

As a white man, I will speak for myself, there is a literal dread that runs through my body every time I begin to post a comment on something that does not fall in line with the far left view points. So much so, that 9 times out of 10 I end up just deleting the comment and not posting it, because I know if I post it I’m probably going to get blasted and blacklisted and maybe even canceled. All because I shared my opinion or thought or question that didn’t automatically capitulate to the readers point of view. This is also a big reason that Trump won the election while all the polls said he would not, because straight white men would not admit they were voting for Trump to the public because of the potential hate that ensues espousing that belief. I once saw a bumper sticker that read “Straight white male republican… how else can I piss you off today?” And that about sums it up, because if you are a straight white male conservative, you are hated. Publicly. And it’s just accepted as common practice. That’s not equality. And that’s definitely not privilege.

I have to say though, he has done more than enough to have earned the benefit of the doubt from me, and because of that, I believe what he meant just came out wrong, and I'll wait for him to clarify, or explain.
For the record though, I do not, and will not, except that it's anyones turn to receive discrimination.
What I believe is: it's everyone's turn to stop discriminating against all of our brothers and sisters, to learn to live together, and to love each other.
It's time for us to fulfill the promise of this great nation, and the dreams of all the great men and women who have sacrificed so much to move us in the direction of that more perfect Union, and so often, drag the rest of the world along with us.
So much progress has been made, let's not allow people to drag us backward, while claiming it's with the intent to move us forward.
I believe it was Morgan Freeman who said, "The only way to end discrimination is to stop discriminating." But regardless of who said it, I agree 100% with it.

      You should know that,
"....a game for some of these hyper far lefties to try and one up...."
is nothing to get all stirred up about, but it does not read as an invitation for good faith civil discourse either. It's an invitation for people who play games.
The value of what Shapiro and Jordan have to say is zero.
They are pundits living their best lives getting paid to voice their opinions.
They are hired as experts in their own field or profession, not on whatever subject they are being paid to talk about. Their opinions are as relevant to these issues as yours and mine are.
They may have the ego of a politician or future plans to run for office in mind, but for now, they are not politicians.
So there is no reason for either one of them to ever mention either political party when discussing issues like, LGBTQ rights, gender equal pay, or feminism, etc.
But that is what they, not so subltly do. That is what they are paid for. To push the narrative of the party who hires them. The gratuitous derogatory comment sets the stage, so to speak. The lies and manipulation of facts are coming.
One just has to listen and pay attention.
Especially with Shapiro. He's a lawyer forgodsake. Oddly, deception is a legitimate job description in his profession.
A lawyer's job is to win.
Just because you like what you hear, that does not mean that
correcting twisted facts or pointing out false claims and accusations is playing games.
These are all very important human not political issues.
      That's why I speak up.

You asked a couple questions in this video... So here are some answers for you
    1. Who is Ben Shapiro? He's regarded as a political genius from the time that he was a young teenager. He wrote a book on politics and got it published at the age of 17. He graduated from Harvard law School as one of the youngest graduates ever. He travels the country speaking on political issues and free speech and has become well known for championing individual rights
    2. You ask about the protests and what ben was talking about... Throughout 2019 (before covid locked the country down) Ben and several other conservative speakers were scheduled to speak at large universities across the country. When they arrived there were thousands of people who had stood in line for hours to hear them talk. There were also several hundred protesters who began physically attacking the people who wanted to listen to Ben (or the other speakers). They then forced their way into the auditorium and prevented Ben from speaking through various means of physical violence and threats. The University administrators allowed this to happen because they disagreed with Ben Shapiro or others like him.

    • @Jcikokalol
      @Jcikokalol 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I don't even know if the admin didn't agree with Ben (although knowing the type of people at college, you are probably correct) I think they were more concerned with being lambasted in the media as being racist and sexist and all the other buzzwords that people throw around with no evidence to get people to comply and or shut up. Bad publicity means someone would've gotten fired if not then all and the colleges weren't ever going to stand up and have a back bone. That's the whole issue with all of this, anyone can call you a name and the media will ruin your life, or try to. Get you fired get you deplatformed, etc. And they literally have people whose only goal is to find you saying or doing something in any point of your life to try and do it. It's a cancer of an ideology because it's secondary symptom is narcissism and mental illness.

To ask, “What facts?” because you want to disregard him is just a shot in the dark. Ben does his homework on many subjects and he states data stats that can be researched and found. I’m a conservative and understand him. As it is known, two wrongs don’t make a right, meaning that just because times and fads are in the favor of minorities, LGBTQXYZ and others, does not mean another group like white, straight, males should be degraded. We should respect all or we are doomed to repeat the past and continue to instigate each other by groups. “We are being watched by other beings and I’m sure they are saying, “What a stupid species humans are. “

The concept that all of mankind are created equal with; God given rights, was thought up of by great people, later those who claimed to hold this belief was challenged by a good man by the name of Fredrick Douglas to uphold their claims. Later, another good man decided it was time to act on that challenge by ordering the abolition of the enslavement of a people that had been deigned those rights that they had always been entitled too. A very brutal war was fought to end that enslavement, and ever since then, major steps have been made to elevate those peoples in order to put them in equal footing with everyone else.
There's still more work to be done of course, but regardless of how much farther we need to go, the ideal this country was founded on still rings true, and still applies to all at the moment their life begins. It's not something you earn though suffering, I'm sorry my fellow man of a darker complexion had to be the ones who had to suffer in order to call those who claim to believe in equality for all to action, but civil rights still do apply to all equally.
So whenever I hear a darker skinned induvial say something like "everybody gets their turn" my rational tells me; even if the person who said that wouldn't want it to happen, the only way this ends is with paler skinned people being put in chains and deigned their rights of which they are entitled too, for however long their captures care . This is only going to cause more resentment; more turn taking. I want the future to be what I've seen in elementary school with the construction paper earth pinned to the wall with kids of all shades are holding hand together. Not this brutal version of king of the hill. I'll say this too, even though I don't want things to go that way I'll fight like hell, and die before me, and my own are put in chains, you can count on that.

"Everybody gets their turn".. I disagree with you vehemently on that. We should abhor ALL racism, whether it is against blacks or whites or Asians, hispanics,Arabs.. whoever. To discriminate against someone for the kind of body... that GOD put them in.. is WRONG. No, Van.. it's no one's "turn".. it's all of our turn to love each other as our neighbor and disregard the type of body God puts someone in, except to say "wow, God is an amazing Artist".... of course I am not talking about disregarding honoring the history of each race.. but I am talking about treating each other equally, with love. "Love your neighbor"...Edit: I hope I misunderstood your statement.. but that's what it sounded like to me, that it is now time for white people to face discrimination. Please tell me that's not what you meant. If you meant, that everybody gets their turn in terms of fighting for rights.. well, I think the point is that America is not about race. That's the point. It doesn't matter what a person's color is.. we are supposed to love each other regardless of skin. We need to move past race. Learn from history, hold hands and move forward.

I wanted to read the verse about condemning gays because I wanted the context and the woman reading looked at me like I had 3 heads. Not even 2, but 3. Searched deeper and the context wasn’t even God giving a rule, but the Jews making rules for themselves so as not to lose their culture to the babylonians (given our times, even though I am gay I understand that decision).

I also wrote this as a reply to someone's comment (about black on white racism) but I also wanted to say it here so it could be seen better:
Thank you. People either don't realise that or just don't want to believe it. I was not allowed to attend my Korean American boyfriend's family gatherings on Thanksgivings and Christmases because the fact that I was White made the extended family "uncomfortable". I spent those holidays alone with no family or friends of my own to go to (this was in college and my friends went home and my family lived on the other side of the country and I could not afford to go there).
Another time, when I was visiting a loved one in a nursing home every evening a number of black aides and nurses refused to say hello to me at the nurses station next to the nighttime door entrance where I came in every night. For at least three months I ignored this and smiled and said hi completely genuinely every night until I had to give up because it just hurt too much. When my loved one asked one person from that group of people there why they would never say hi to me but would always say hi to him, she said it was because they didn't like white people. She said she would say hi to me but didn't feel like she could because of peer pressure. This obviously didn't apply to my loved one because he obviously had some black in him. I'm sure they were also required to be somewhat friendly to the patients, but to friends and family they didn't feel the need to if they didn't want to.
I have also heard many stories of white kids in all black or mostly black schools regularly getting beaten up because they were white.
Also, black on white violent crimes are ten times higher than white on black violent crimes. This is true even though blacks make up only 13-17 percent of the population. But still, it's white people who keep being called the "racist" ones.
    I could keep going...
