  • I wanted to share my experience with the Record and my other gloves, very surprised by the issues I had with these, but I’ll definitely be sticking to Minus 273 from now on.
Hope this helps those considering these different gloves for sim racing ✌️

Nice informative review after actual use. Way too many reviews on youtube from people who barely used the product.

This is the reason I went with a cheap general purpose work glove from Home Depot. I would be upset too if I spent that kind of money on gloves.

The gloves are made for karting. When you are going 104 kmh it is pretty good if they are warm when you are still

That makes sense, but that wasn’t really one of the big issues I had. I found the warmth to be manageable for up to 3 hour sessions.
My main problem is the wearing through of the fingers from paddle shifting (which I’d imagine would happen with a shifter kart as well as a sim wheel like mine) and the flaking of the rubber.
The minus 273 gloves are also designed for karting and held up well for 9+ months and they’re still usable after 150-200 hours. I have no holes on them and I never noticed a single flake of rubber off of them.

@@jackdpearce ok i understand But i dont think it would happen in a shifter kart. I am a karting driver and kz2 (shifter karts) they dont have paddels they have a stick in the right side that they are using to shif down and up and on the left side the have a padel thing for the clutch. But do you think i should buy does for my racing gear?

@@simonalsenmyr2820 Gotcha, I have allost no karting experience (one time ~10 years ago) so that’s good to know. I drive with a sequential stick in the sim occasionally, but not often so I can’t comment on any wear specific to that use case with these gloves. I suppose the flaking rubber wouldn’t be a huge issue if you’re karting since you won’t have to clean up the little pieces, but I’d still be worried about the durability and grip long term especially when driving something irl, even if only a kart. Given my wear is only after 1 month of indoor use on a fairly powerful sim wheel, I’d assume they’d fair rather poorly in a real life motorsport scenario (especially if outdoor elements are a factor).
Overall I wouldn’t recommend these Sparcos, but I’d definitely take a look at the Minus 273 gloves if you’re karting. They have more grip and have been more durable in my experience. As you said I’m using the Sparcos stationary, indoor, and in a clean and dry environment so I can only imagine how poorly they’d hold up under harsher conditions.

@@jackdpearce are they worth to buy for karting?

@@simonalsenmyr2820 I don’t kart so I can’t speak to that specifically, I wouldn’t recommend them. Minus 273 gloves have been better in my experience.
