Oven gloves are the best, just make sure they aren't joined together.😂

My IMB gloves are fantastic and customized. Lightweight and very breathable, and work great with almost all wheel types. I personally like the mesh design as they stretch enough to avoid having the seams rub and don’t loosen as some do during endurance races

I’ve been looking at the the customisable gloves on IMB and I’m wondering if the price starts at £x or that is the set price

I love the Jeff Gordon shirt yo, I was 24, he was 24 and he drove #24 when I got into NASCAR back in the day.
I got a pair of the gloves from Trak Racer..though I need their X-Large instead of the Large and they don’t have em available in X-large for some reason. I want them more to protect my wheel than anything.

Personally I use a pair of full finger summer cycling gloves. Cost me a tenner from Decathlon. Lightweight material and reinforced in all the right places. Have the touch screen pads on the fingers and are nice and grippy. They also have (for me) a perfect fit and are available in sizes for most hands from kids to my large hands. Also as cycling gloves they're designed to wick the sweat away from your hands so no issues sweaty hands even after a couple of hour stints behind the wheel.
These kind of gloves are much more easily available as they can be found in your local Halfords, Decathlon, bike shop etc. Not all of us have a karting or sim racing shop locally so would need to resort to buying online. Th3 great thing about these kinds of gloves is that you can go and try them on in pretty much any town in the country and find a pair with a good fit.

Yes Decathlon is great, i have the Triban (8398148).
They have grip pads on the palm and the material on the rest of the palm feels like alcantara and really premium.
Only downside is that the finger is a little too long for me but the smaller size was really difficult to get in to.

Yep me too. For me they're better than the pair of sim racing gloves I got bought as a present a while ago.

Love the content! Just ordered a set of Minus273. Thanks for the information. Potentially saved me some money. At $40 shipped I’m quite excited.

I didn't like the rubber grip on my wheel so I used gloves, then wore through wheel grip. I found that using sports equipment wraps (Tennis racket) I tried Alien Pros are a really great feel. I probably would have never used gloves if I had known about wraps. I seen a lot of posts about wheel wraps will be a sticky mess, no but Hockey tape is. There is only a tiny bit to hold the ends and I have hundred hours on wraps and are really positive contact no slipping.

Awesome vid! Im a sucker for gear and gear reviews. I bought a pair of cheap racing gloves off of amazon as soon as i started playing GT7 even though i still dont have a wheel. My hands get clammy after a while and trying to use the controller as a wheel feels more natural with a pair of gloves and i can definitely drive better since im not having to regrip the controller every second.

I use Mechanix Wear leather tactical gloves. They are a summer glove so they have perforations front and back.

I like 3/4 finger gloves. "Copper Fit compression" style gloves work and last a long time. I hate Alcantara. I wrap mine in leather in self sealing silicone to tighten the ends. Works great. I used black electrical tape for years. I also have some leather driving gloves that I cut the ends off. My fingers are too short for the size I wear. I have seen a company that makes external seamed 3/4 finger gloves. They looked good, but the $35 a pair was higher than I am ready to pay.

I've been using gloves set the Logitech driving force pro... think that's what it was called lol. 15 years ago. The least expensive alarm back then were clearance store baseball and golf gloves. Not necessarily ideal, but they did the trick as far as sweat went. I've settled on Alpinestars, kart gloves. Gauntlet design, but not Nomex. As far as I know, that applies to all karting gloves.. it's just difficult to find them in adult sizes. Alpinestars check both boxes, and they're touch screen compatible. I'd never heard of -273. I'm in the states, so I might give them a try. Ayrton Senna replicas.. who the hell can resist that.

When I got my Gt dd pro I didn't wear gloves as didn't see the point but when I got the Mclaren wheel I started using gloves and it made such a difference. No hand sweating on long races and comfortable.

I wear cheep gloves on the DD pro wheel because the tacky feel I get from the rubber is uncomfortable.

    • @mattsellings666
      @mattsellings666 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@savageduck4487 Yeah I agree, the GT7 wheel rubber is bad for that but one of the main reasons I found was the thickness of the wheel. The Mclaren wheel has thinner grips over the GT7 wheel plus the Mclaren wheel rubber isn't tacky.

I’ve been using bmx gloves and they have been great! The Velcro after about 6 months is starting to become annoying tho! So I might have to upgrade to some karting gloves! They just look so good!

My IMB gloves arrived a couple of days ago, and i really like them; the only thing i didn't like was the 8-9 week wait. In this day and age, why on earth do they take so long!?

Don’t forget real life motorsport gloves are nomex because they have to be fire proof. So they have to be a set thickness and weight. There is no getting around that, sparco for example cant just go right let’s make a thin glove with no fireproofing. All motorsport safety equipment including gloves have to meet strict standards!. Nothing on that table would meet the standards or be allowed in competition!. Scrutineering at say brands hatch or the Nurburgring would say nope your not using those, get real certified gloves or your not racing.
