This whole Book Of Lorath actually tells the story from all the games in chronological order, from Diablo 1 to the end of Diablo 3, it hits different if you know all the events that happened and all the characters, defeated those Prime and Lesser Evils, met the Angels etc, it's like playing a book :D Also, where the last Episode ends, Diablo 4's story (as in when you start playing) begins. Blizzard did a crazy good job with these videos. And yeah, Diablo's lore is one of the best.

The look of concentration during these lore dumps! You’re not letting a word get past you! I’ve been listening to Diablo lore for 20 years and I’m still working it out!
I find it incredible Story Telling, how Lorath (the narrator) is telling the story. At one point (Part2) he describes us humans (Nephalem) as "beatuiful abominations". Those double meanings of good and evil in 1 Thing continue onwards. Its so amazing. "even the most RIGHTEOUS might FALL, given the RIGHT push in the WRONG direction."
I love how invested you get in the lore of a game you've never played, to me that's what makes this reaction great. While I'm here, I have to plug my own favourite video series. The narrator is voiced by Ralph Ineson, the actor who played Dagmer Cleftjaw in Game of Thrones, Amycus Carrow in Harry Potter (Half-blood Prince-Deathly Hollows), and Chris Finch in the original British version of The Office.

It is worth going back and watching the Diablo 2 Resurrected, Diablo 3, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and Diablo Immortal cinematics. You get to see some of the events described by Lorath and they are epic. (immortal you can skip but it is technically canon)
She's an interesting character. She performs these evil AF acts similar to the Prime Evils, but at the same time when she's looking at the corpse of her firstborn son, you can hear the grief in her voice and see the rage in her eyes. I feel like she actually loved the first generation Nephalem. Especially Linarian. He had the most potential.
@@twohorsesinamancostume7606 Depends on the why. If Lilith had not done as she did then the wars between the 2 opposing cults likely could have been the end of humanity right there.

I would laugh if Tyriel banged Lilith on the rebound and made a human-centric 3rd faction. Tyriel is obviously the angel equivalent to Lilith she isn't the only one that favors humanity.
I knew the narrator's voice sounded familiar... it's Ralph Ineson, who played one of the Ironborn in Game of Thrones, and General Tarakanov in Chernobyl.
they really do great stories i dont play these games for long but just for the story who needs movies with writing like this especially when you can participate in the story for a short while.
There's an animated short film from 2012 named 'Diablo III - Wrath' here on TH-cam. It's only 6 min long but it's so good! A Diablo animated show is also in development for netflix, so a lot of exciting stuff coming in the near future.
I think ultimately this version of events is kind of a culmination (or mishmash even) of the individual stories from all the previous games, starting with the first one that came out in 1997. They are certainly staying true to cutscenes and characters from the previous games, and I was pretty impressed how they tied it all together. Especially when you consider there was no book series or anything that the original game was based on. It was just supposed to be a fun game to kill some demons and find cool loot, but by creating such a cool basic story to begin with it birthed the beginning of this deep lore that it has developed into today. I think there are several book series as well at this point. But all of the cutscenes throughout the years have been amazing! I remember watching the ones from the first Diablo game (which look pretty rough and dated at this point) and just being so scared as a little kid. But it was like an addictive scared lol, led to me experiencing all the games throughout the years along with my younger brothers. The guy narrating is Lorath himself, he's a prominent character in the new game and his voice actor certainly does the character justice. Overall, I think all of the voice acting and storytelling is some of the best I've ever experienced anywhere, whether it be from books, movies, etc. You guys should definitely check it out! Although I feel like playing Diablo together at the same PC (aka only one person playing and one just watching) isn't ideal, you can definitely play together in a party and both experience the story together if you have a way to both use your own computers at the same time. It's just more fun when you each have your own character to build and develop and can work together to explore and overcome the challenges in the game as a team. Once again thanks for the great reaction, you two just seem really genuine, the current trend of wild over-the-top reactions to everything is getting a bit stale at this point. Lilith is a complex character. Yes, she's "evil", but not in the same way as other demons. She doesn't desire power for its own sake, but for a specific cause. In her eyes, Sanctuary has become rotten, and she seeks a means to cure it. She's purposeful, but delicate. She's ruthless, but not uncaring. And she has her own emotional baggage that shapes her actions. She's probably the most "good" demon in existence. The artists for the game gave her heterochromia, and they've said her blue eye is meant to symbolize the good in her. I'm eager to see what your impressions of her in Diablo IV are. I've finished the story mode, and it's quite interesting how they presented her character.
as others have said i'm sure, this chapter was basically the story of diablo 3 and its expansion Reaper of souls. I'd recommend watching some of the cinematics from D3 for a better picture of some of the scenes described in this. Specifically tyreal vs imperius and imperius vs diablo, two of my favourite cinematics lol
Wow hearing you ladies get chills shows me how good the story of Diablo is. Amazing reaction ladies. It is so good because taking fantasy out of it is like real life. We struggle each day to battle our own demons. Man and woman alike we both have capacity for good or evil. I will say though Adria using her own daughter just made me sick. That is true evil. Deckard loved Leah like is own daughter. He guided and raised her. Leah was compassionate, kind, and sweet and to have to watch Diablo take her well was horrific. To me the ONLY true angel was Tyrael. He truly was good and protected humankind. His scene where he sacrificed his angelic nature was so beautiful, heartbreaking and sent shivers down my spine. To think if there is no angel of justice...means no justice in world :(
Diablo 1 takes place in 20:48 to 21:48 Diablo 2 is what happens in 21:49 to 24:03 with a dlc that is what happens in 24:05 to 25:17 Diablo 3 is pretty much the entire fourth part. also if you thought the trailer for 4 were impressive you should REALLY see the remastered cinnematics for 2, they are incredible.
The wording of this is very important. "Lilith came to a similar solution" as Inarius, not the same one. Her solution was to use the Nephalim to end the Eternal Conflict, have the strengths of both Angel and Demon without the drawback of either of the forebearers. Her goal is to become the Prime Evil and destroy the Angels with an army of Nephalim at her side.
i can see you guys love stories too and great with names, there are plenty of great universes to check out, i would recommend the fallout universe, simpler but with great stories and characters too such as the survivalist, Randall clark
I believe, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but each chapter was basically a synopsis of the story line for each of the Diablo games and their expansions; I know the last chapter was Diablo 3. It is a great and dark story.
Hi Halo and Kiss, may I suggest watching the Inarius vs. Lilith cinematic. This follows the battle in hell cinematics where Inarius finds Lilith. I'm not going to spoil this because it's regarding as the best cinematics of the entire Diablo franchise.
To answer your question on who we play as in these games. In Diablo 1 you are able to choose to play as the warrior Aiden or one of his companions. In Diablo 2 and 3 you play as one of the adventurers that followed Aiden and Adria after they left Tristam. As for Lilith and her being good or evil. I would have to say she is neither. Since she chose to defend her children that act turned her from being and agent of evil to an agent of good. I think she did love her children; I also think she had plans to use the power her children had for her own plans. Only time will tell on whether or not if I am right or wrong about that. I can't wait to find out.
You definitely need to watch the Diablo cinematics from the games, especially the ones from Diablo 3… as if you have any curiosity about the narrator here, you might have noticed his mentioning that he faced Malthael. This was one of the events of Diablo 3, and thus a cinematic exists where you will see young Lorath’s life spared in the face of something horrific, and perhaps understand the mindset of his older self now as the story of Diablo 4 begins… 😉
As someone who played Diablo 1, 2, 3 (and i am gonna play d4) when i listen to this i feel like he is talking about me, because the heroes he talks about are us, players. Any other Diablo veteran here who feels the same?
"At the end, he was like, 'Lilith is back'. Is she going to be the good guy? Well, because she loves humans. She's the only one that's loved humans." Well, Lilith and Tyreal. Tyreal has fought for us countless times too. *spoilers* Don't read further if you don't want minor spoilers. But yes, having played Diablo 4, she is portrayed as a villain because of her demonic nature, her ruthlessness, and her any-means-necessary determination, but I honestly feel Lilith was a good guy. She never really did anything wrong, and when the players eventually find out what she intends to do at the end of the game, we stop her without ever really knowing for sure if that would have turned out in humanity's best interest or not. She only ever actually fights with the player character because she's so angry that we foiled her plans before she arrived, not because she's trying to do something horrible and we're in her way. So I honestly feel like the player in Diablo 4 is actually the villain.
You two should watch the Diablo 2 cinematics if you haven't yet. They are some of my favorite cinematics in video-gaming, and the voice acting is so so good, and the story of Marius that the Book of Lorath didn't even touch on(Marius is the Dark Wanderer's unwitting travel companion in D2, the story is told from his perspective after the fact) is so good and tragic. It doesn't matter if you watch the OG cinematics or the remake versions as the voice actors are the same. Also don't listen to what other people say about whether or not you should pre-order something. If you want to pre-order something(yes I know that 'according to reddit' comment was a jab) just do it, just know going in that what you pre-order might end up being a clunker.
Now you have to play the game to see where the story goes 😉. Blizzard content is amazing. You'll feel the same way watching most of their stories and cinematics. Would love to see more reacts. Keep up the good work ladies loved enjoying it with you. Have a good one stay safe.
If you want some more Diablo lore goodness, DarkLOREDash is a youtuber that does a lot of good stuff. Including semi role-played play throughs of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 where he goes over the story in depth.
Blizzard always have good stories .. you can just dig down very deep into them and always find content. Like in Warcraft how there they also have the Titans that created the universe and the Dragon aspects that they set to guard it etc. etc.
The content of the story from 16:30 is the content of the original Diablo. It is recommended to continue to watch the Diablo 2 remake board and the chapter animation of Diablo 3 to understand the content of the story better.
Cant wait for you guys to react to the whole Diablo franchise (cinematics). You gonna love it. Look it up for the Diablo 1, Diablo 2 resurrected and Diablo 3 + Reaper of Souls cinematics. Cheers!
I would love to see your reaction to the Diablo 2 cinematics. Story-wise, I think it's the best of the series overall (though Diablo 4 has far better characters).
Playing Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls, in Pandemonium fortress we can find some audio text from both Inarius and Lilith and it seemed to me that Lilith kinda tricked Inarius, it wasn't really love that she felt for Inarius, it was more of a necessity for her long term plan. Or did I misunderstood those ?
In fact, the story has just begun, most of these events that were told happened in ancient times. Diablo returns in the future and none of the princes of hell have been proven dead yet. Welcome to the Diablo universe.
If you recall, at the end of Diablo 3, your character is discovered to be a nephalem. You actually become what Inarius feared, the two bloodlines in you made you stronger than any demon or angel and that's how you beat Diablo. It was actually kinda foreshadowing that your character in D3 will become the main antagonist in D4, but seems they didn't go with that, as far as I know. There is some precedence to it, what with the first protagonist, Aidan in Diablo 1, becoming the Dark Wanderer in D2, the vessel for Diablo ,after being corrupted by him, and two of the playable classes, Rogue and Sorceror also became evil. Some of us were expecting our D3 characters to follow suit, but guess not!
Dunno if you guys have already bought the game or not, if still on the fence beaware although it has good story/cutscenes (not as good as the cinematic ones you watched, stuff like that costs 6 or even 7 figures to make, but pretty good still), its a somewhat complicated game and if unfamiliar with the action rpg genre can be very overwhelming. The game can be played casually sure, but after you finish the story and want to continued getting stronger you will have to understand several game mechanics and how they work together.
Maybe you should make a small intro because you are just starting to watch those clips. I came here because i watched you two get blown away by the cinematics of the game and know that you watch these now. But someone else might need a small little note why you are watching these now :)

Enjoy the game when you play it some of the in game cinematics are unreal
As someone who played Diablo 1, 2, 3 (and i am gonna play d4) when i listen to this i feel like he is talking about me, because the heroes he talks about are us, players. Any other Diablo veteran here who feels the same?
"At the end, he was like, 'Lilith is back'. Is she going to be the good guy? Well, because she loves humans. She's the only one that's loved humans."
Well, Lilith and Tyreal.
You guys gotta do more blizzard cinematics lol, especially world of warcraft ❤
Rathma is the guy who brought Lilith back her son
Now you have to play the game to see where the story goes 😉. Blizzard content is amazing. You'll feel the same way watching most of their stories and cinematics. Would love to see more reacts. Keep up the good work ladies loved enjoying it with you. Have a good one stay safe.
Nephalem are indeed still part of the game. In fact, that's what you are in Diablo III
I hope you post a video of you guys playing and enjoying the game
If you want some more Diablo lore goodness, DarkLOREDash is a youtuber that does a lot of good stuff. Including semi role-played play throughs of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 where he goes over the story in depth.
Blizzard always have good stories .. you can just dig down very deep into them and always find content. Like in Warcraft how there they also have the Titans that created the universe and the Dragon aspects that they set to guard it etc. etc.
Such an amazing story. Must make a AAA movie 🍿🎥
The content of the story from 16:30 is the content of the original Diablo. It is recommended to continue to watch the Diablo 2 remake board and the chapter animation of Diablo 3 to understand the content of the story better.
Heroes, yes... that's all of us.
The narrator is Ralph Ineson
I knew he sounded familiar
I would love to see some Attack on Titan here, it would provide premium reactions, you two are the best! ❤
Cant wait for you guys to react to the whole Diablo franchise (cinematics). You gonna love it. Look it up for the Diablo 1, Diablo 2 resurrected and Diablo 3 + Reaper of Souls cinematics. Cheers!
Amazing, please do more diablo cinematic reactions!
for thoes who play all diablo games to ear this story bring images of thoes moment in your minds !
11:36
Lol that was cute :)))
You guys should watch the cinamtics for diablo 1-3. That's what I did before starting Diablo 4.
This is a bit off program, but I had u tube music playing and I swear , it looked like u 2 doing a cover of the Eurythmics sweet dreams .!?
Look up Sarah dugas
Ralph Ineson, the voice in the beginning?
You should definitely watch the Diablo 3 In game cinematics, they show you visually what happened here that Lorath was explaining.
You should definitely watch the cinematic "diablo attacks heaven" to see exactly what happened right after diablo corrupted Leah.
Great animation.
How was the most difficult Adversary? I only played 2, 3 and the Diablo 4 beta, but I'd say Malthael overall.
This information IS alot to take in, cuz its the entire storyline from BEFORE Diablo 1, all the way to the end of Diablo 3.
Oh you guys just MUST watch Diablo 3 cinematic videos!
if you liked the diablo4 cinematics you should do the diablo2 ones as well, again more visuals on what you reacted here
Dunno if you guys have already bought the game or not, if still on the fence beaware although it has good story/cutscenes (not as good as the cinematic ones you watched, stuff like that costs 6 or even 7 figures to make, but pretty good still), its a somewhat complicated game and if unfamiliar with the action rpg genre can be very overwhelming.
The game can be played casually sure, but after you finish the story and want to continued getting stronger you will have to understand several game mechanics and how they work together.
the game is so fun so far
Maybe you should make a small intro because you are just starting to watch those clips. I came here because i watched you two get blown away by the cinematics of the game and know that you watch these now. But someone else might need a small little note why you are watching these now :)
Now you girls have to play the game campaign together and post it here.
