I work at an e-bike store, Glowworm bicycles here in Sydney if your wondering. I strongly recommend the Ezee bike range, they cover all e-bikes from mountain-cargo-folding, all bikes use throttle + pedal assist and use the companies own batteries.

Hub motors are cool but inefficient, easy to damage, and on their way out. Mid drive is defnitely the way to go. RAdpower offers very good deals for the money, but don't think that you're getting anything advanced; Hub motors have been around for a decade, and although their li-ion battery packs are nice, Li-Ion is very standard today. Their prices are good, but for a great conversion, I have to mention Bafang, particularly the 750w as a sweetspot (and legal in the US) Folding bikes are cool too, and often appeal to the engineer type or businessman, but always remember that you make concessions to have a folding bike, and that a fullsize bike, will big wheels and a full frame, can often offer much more cargo capacity than a "folding cargo" bike Thanks for the great videos, guys, and I always like to see more exposure on ebikes! Btw, the brands we sell as completes are Felt(bosch powered specifically), Yuba, and Izip (both with Currie mid drive motors). We ALWAYS are pushing manufacturers to include things like lights, fenders, and racks, as those are the accessories that make bikes USEFUL and are often standard in places like Germany, Japan, etc
Oh, and we've converted folding bikes before (not sure the bike retained 100% foldability, but enough to keep the user happy) Bike-Friday witha 500w Mid drive motor and 16AH Li-Ion pack, range of 60-80 miles, $1200 installed. Also, the Yuba Spicy Curry I THINK weighs in at 55lbs. I could be wrong.

I know that this is not a very tech-y thing but you should review a Honda MotoCompo they are tiny little motorcycles from the 80's that where made to be put in the trunk of some Honda's. The cars were designed specifically so they would work with the bike.
Looks like the front rack was designed with the yachtsman in mind. Good way to haul a water or fuel can securely and up front to keep weight distributed better..
gotta say you bring up points I wouldn't even think about, which shows you tested it in depth and took your time with it. that's one professional review if I ever saw one, great job

$1500 is not cheap.
eh, i preffer buying the Razor E300 for 200$, build a 20Ah 24V Life Battery pack for 500$ and a 24V 500W motor for 75$.

The derailleur guard is for dropping of the bike or being struck from the side. They mostly are found on kids bikes.
You also ride with your seat to low, you will damage you knees!
