    Damn...I wish this video was available when I did my ball joints a year ago. That Honda Ball Joint Adapter Set would've saved me SOOOO much time and pain. I couldn't find it when I searched for one, and figured they didn't exist because the ball joints are non serviceable.

    Perfect timing. Just got new knuckles and used your vids to replace the wheel hubs with Karcepts units and fresh bearings. Just got my Evasive offset ball joints and was planning to tackle them soon and wouldn't ya know. A fresh vid on it. Thanks!

    Very cool man, thank you for sharing! Why does that cup have the cut outs? Why can’t just a solid cup work? Happiest of Holidays to you and your family!!❤🙏🏻

      The part of the knuckle that holds the ball joint is not fully level. The part of the knuckle closest to the axle raises up so the cutout fits around that raised part

      without that it's IMPOSIBLE to remove. I can't remember exactly how I got it out but I think it involved a vice, 2 people, a power hammer, and a lot of patience

    Why did you not reinstall another raised balljoint? I have spoon ones I was going to install, hence me watching this video.

      I did some research and realized I didn’t need offset ball joints

    The Honda OEM ball joint does not have a snap ring, I don't know if it's a great idea to use it. At least not without getting a few tack welds to hold it in place.

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      Yeah, I was wondering about that. Honda sells a replacement which implies that they are replaceable (at least for the accord). There are some folks that have used the OEM ball joints without a snap ring and haven’t complained yet but it does make me wonder.

      @@DIYGuysvideo my understanding is that on the S2000 Honda intended for the ball joints to be non serviceable. You need to get a whole control arm. They don't sell the ball joint for the S2000 individually.

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      For the S2000 there are a lot of bushings that Honda didn’t design to be serviceable but definitely are with aftermarket parts, like the majority of the bushings on the control arms.
      So I don’t think it necessarily means we shouldn’t try to service them.

      @@DIYGuysvideo Not to mention as parts become more and more rare, we'll have to fix what we have, more and more.

    Does the front and rear use the same ball joint? If not do you happen to know what the front are if uses parta from honda acoord agajn like the rear ball joint?

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      They don’t use the same ball joint. It’s s2000 only as far as I know

    • @VinnyS2K

      What I meant is if I could use the same ball joint to replace the front honda S2000 as well?

    But how can I tell if my ball joints have gone bad?

    • @Sleetui
      @Sleetui

      Ripped rubber boot sometimes. Take a crowbar and push against the suspension to see if the ball joint has play/clicking. If so, definitely replace. Ball joints should be tight and not easy to move.

    That buddy club one wear out?

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      Nah it didn't. I originally replaced my OEM ones with the Buddy Clubs but after discussing with some folks I realized I probably didn't need the roll center adjustment that they provide. I was in a pinch and didn't have the time to get an alignment before heading to the track so I opted to stay with OEM like option.

    • @jiurriza

      @@DIYGuysvideo curious to know why some folks and you realized the roll center adjustment is not needed. I replaced mine for that sole purpose :(

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      The rear roll center does not change as dramatically as the front roll center does as you lower the car. So the general consensus among track folks seems to be that the rear roll centers aren’t worth it.

      Whats the consensus on bumpsteer? I heard/read the rear is more sensitive than the front.

    • @DIYGuysvideo

      AP1 has a rear bump steer issue from the factory. That’s it from what I know.
