I always buy tri color cole slaw and just add dressing. You can also put it on tacos instead of lettuce or buy the broccoli slaw and add about a cup full to your coleslaw for more nutrition. The same with shredded carrot.

Oh I'm so glad you enjoy the episodes! Thank you! The pilaf is simply delicious and with your fresh green beans, that green bean side will be even better!
I dehydrate a lot of vegetables and I dehydrate bags and bags of coleslaw mix. When I am heating up soup I froze I add the dehydrated mix to the soup and get my veggies on. I love this recipe you just showed. Will try it for sure. Oh. I add my dehydrated slaw mix to pasta sauce. Not quite pasta primavera but enough to get nutrients though not really much.
My daughter and I love cabbage, but a whole head is too much for 2 of us to use before it starts going bad. Plus, a head takes up a lot of room in our fridge... it's the fridge that came with our apartment and the inside isn't designed very well, so it's hard to make room for larger items. We buy the packaged coleslaw mix, and it's usually enough for a few meals, mostly stir-frys. It doesn't go bad before we use it up, and takes up way less room than a whole cabbage. And, our whole fridge doesn't smell like cabbage.
I did not know that I appreciate the tip! The noodles do release a lot of starch so maybe it would be wise to increase the sauce? I'll have to experiment. 🙂
I so…don’t like these bags of salad, or Cole slaw mixes. There just something about them that stink. It has its smell. But..I agree it’s nice when you can use these bags for quick meals.
Sandra I definitely agree they don't carry the same freshness as when chopped up fresh. I prefer that for sure! But man, on some nights we just need a short-cut right! 😊
I agree about the smell. I always rinse well in cold water and then drain well. The smell is gone, always. Thanks for the great ideas. I’ll be trying these.
I saw a recipe somewhere for this or close to it, but instead of chopping cabbage, I use a bag of coleslaw mix, but I use the bag. Fried hot (spicy) prk sausage. Add bag of cole slaw and a can of Rotel tomatoes with lime and cilantro on the label. I just toss the slaw and Rotel with the still hot sausage and pan. Mix well. The slaw wilts but I like it a little crunchy. I put sour cream on a taco shell and add the sausage / Rotel / slaw mixture. So easy and good.
I love coleslaw but always need a sweet juicy apple grated into the mix, also some celery seeds to make it perfect, and a wee touch of horseradish. Lighthouse coleslaw dressing is my favorite. I can whip up a batch and happily munch on it for days.
It's also super healthy for you.. I know people who try to add cabbage in some form in every dinner meal. I want to start adding more of that and flaxseed it's so good for you!!
You can cut them like steaks slices and just fry them in a little butter and the avacodo oil and what ever seasoning you like they are delicious so is cauliflower cooked the same way you can also cook them on the grill yum

I am just getting ready to watch the video. I am typing this before hand because I know I will like whatever you are cooking. You see I try to eat a very clean diet with almost no processed foods. I do well for months but something will happen an emergency, running late ect. I then need something tasty that I can cook quickly. I either have it on hand or I can pick-up one or 2 items from the grocery store. Because these are the times that make you start eating things that you shouldn't. I have several interesting tasty and healthy meals that I can prepare using bagged coleslaw. I usually get the organic from Whole Foods but not always. I check the date, the appearance and fresh smell when I open it. I also use Bing voice to check for recalls while I am in the store. Bagged coleslaw is fresh, minimally processed and a healthy choice. You can do so much worse if you don't have plans in your head before you need food. Coleslaw is low in carbs, oxalates, seed oils, fats and toxic chemicals. It's fairly reasonably priced and readily available. I am always ready to tune in to recipes that I do not have. Thanks in advance!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found some inspiration! Finding healthy recipes that are quick and easy AND delicious can feel like a lot of work sometimes but the payoff is worth it!
Very unique recipes..look delicious..and yes I agree with you about guys being loud on the phone I tell my husband I'm sure whoever he's talking to is probably holding their phone far away from their ear
I use cole slaw mix with chicken, pork or shrimp, spices and sauces to fill my eggroll or spring roll wrappers. It makes making loads of them to freeze so quick and easy to make. My son used to love how easy it was for him to warm up the ones I froze after cooking. It was great when he was a teen I was working 2 jobs.
I have yet to make homemade eggrolls and spring rolls. Like Pierogi's it seems daunting but the coleslaw mix would definitely make it a little faster at least with the prep! That's so neat that you make them from scratch and freeze them!
@@themenumaid I bought the spring roll and egg roll wrappers, years ago they were very inexpensive. I was a divorced mom with a deadbeat ex working 2 jobs, really had to try to stretch my money to support my son and myself. I used to do a lot of meal prep on Sunday if I didn't have to work. I learned to be frugal back then. Knowing how to be frugal has served me well as a retired senior with a poverty level income.
Yum that sounds like a great idea my husband loves egg rolls too!! He'd love them and when I get moved into my house across the street from my daughter so will her whole family so I'll be doing this I don't know why I never thought of that? I had a best friend that was a chef he gave me a lot of ideas for affordable foods. I also use Cole slaw mix and ranch dressing on tacos, sounds weird tastes good@ My father was from North Carolina so in my family we always have our chilidogs with mustard and a big heap of coleslaw. In the summer I often put drained crushed pineapple in my cole slaw, the creamy kind of slaw not the vinegar one. I have a file with over 250 dollar tree ingredients recipes that I've written and compiled over time. Most of them are my own take on other recipes that I've used in the past or things I have come up with on my own. I'm good at being poor, I look at it as a challenge. I know where the reduced areas are in every store I shop and how to find coupons and the real deals on Amazon items too.
Hey, Menu Maid could you please find a recipe for chicken Tettrazinni that has zucchini and pimento in it I spelled it wrong 😅 of course.. But I use to make it year's ago and forgot how it was on the back of a Campbell's cream of mushroom but I can no longer find it, it has some there on Google but they are not the same... WOW I would only use Cole slaw mix was for to make a coleslaw for myself and the rest of the bag would go bad. Nobody else in my household likes coleslaw as much as I do. Thanks for some great ideas.
Leave the top of the bag fully open and it's lasts much, much longer! It does smell a bit, so just put a box of baking soda in the Frig to eliminate cabbage odor!
**Tip for your wilted celery** If you cut the celery into sticks & put them into a container of water for an hour or two, they will absorb some of the water and be just as crunchy as ever! I am forever having to do that. 😂😂
I sauté a bag of coleslaw mix with chopped onion and garlic. Cool slightly and mix with 2 lbs. ground turkey or lean ground beef. Add 2 eggs, 1/2 C breadcrumbs, 1/4 C red wine vinegar and seasonings (oregano, basil, pepper, etc). Form into 2 loaves and bake for 1 hr at 350F. The best, juiciest meatloaf ever!
Fabulous recipes. This is the kind of content that I am so happy that people (like you) make for TH-cam. It's just TOO EXPENSIVE to eat out now, so we cook every meal at home. And, I'll tell my wife about these awesome recipes, because I'd like to taste some of what you've figured out.
just so happens I have a head of purple and half a head white cabbage (was going to make a huge coleslaw to take to a party, but it got cancelled). This gives tons of extra ideas on how to get through it all without od'g on coleslaw! lol I think some canned beans in the pasta salad would be awesome and some crushed peanuts on top of the rice noodle /pork dish would be great too. Can't wait to try these out.
I'm definitely trying the coleslaw/pasta salad recipe. I'm always looking for ways to use the coleslaw mix. I put it in stir fry, hmde egg rolls, and soups, Now you have given me a pasta salad recipe to use it in. Thanks.
I love grabbing a bag of coleslaw mix for super quick and easy meals. When I’m in a hurry, I just put half a bag on a plate, mix mayo, lemon juice and garlic powder together. Add to the coleslaw and sprinkle on top some seeds, like sunflower or pumpkin seeds. Add a sprinkle of parsley flakes and dehydrated onions. I need some variety and I’m going to try your recipes. 😊
I just had to tell you that I made the cold pasta salad with Cole slaw mix last weekend and it is DELICIOUS!!! Thank you for sharing! I am single, so I made a full pound of pasta, chopped up all sorts of veggies and made the dressing over the weekend. I kept everything separate in lidded plastic bowls and have been mixing and enjoying this FRESH all week for either a quick lunch or dinner. Not bored yet and everything lasted until the end of the week! My new summer go-to meal!
I am so glad to hear this! It really doesn't surprise me, It's a fantastic recipe, we love it so much! Thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know. 😍
Without the rice noodles that is very similar to what I've used with rice wraps (spring rolls) or rice vermicelli (mei fun or rice sticks that soak only) for a cold noodle salad in the summer. June - Sept is too hot and I want cold foods.
After opening rolls leave bottom cardboard on......then slice rolls. Since the rolls stick to cardboard it is easier to slice them. Remove cardboard after slicing.
Just found your great channel. If your celery is limp, cut off root end and put in a glass of water for about 30 minutes and it will crisp right up. Works for soft broccoli and cauliflower too. Keep cooking!
First time on your channel and I am ALREADY HOOKED and subscribed!I'm only ⅔ of the way through the video and there are so many things I like. (I couldn't wait to start telling you how excited I am about finding you.) First off, I noticed you are very personable and real; very genuine. That's always a plus. And talk about creativity! You are an interesting cook. Look at the creative ways you've come up with to use a bag of Cole Slaw mix. Just regular Cole Slaw mix usually only used for a salad. But not from you. You go from a "meat and potato" dish using perogi to a potsticker noodle bowl that doesn't use potstickers. I think I'm really going to like the way you think about and approach your recipes. I can't wait to see what other ingenious ideas you come up with. Plus, although we've just met I see a fun twinkle in your eye and I bet as we go along I'll see a bit of playful quirkiness too. That's another good thing. Things will never get routine or slightly boring (recipes can be great but if not presented well .... well, you know what I mean. This is going to be fun. And deliver much good eating. The four recipes I've seen so far look absolutely delicious and at least two of them will be used in the next 7 days - and I bet will become regulars in the rotation. I know what I'll be doing tonight. Going through your past videos. Right now I've got to go finish this one. Ang, its so nice to meet you. My name is Debby BTW. Have a nice Mother's Day weekend. Hope someone else is cooking for you and treating you special.
Debby, thank you so much for connecting with me here in the comments! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos and I hope you love the recipes! I'll be spending lunch with my mom today and my daughter and hubs for dinner. It should be a wonderful day! Take care!
great ideas! i normally buy cabbage whole, but got a deal on 2 bags of the mix. i used it as a base for salads, stir fry, shrimp spring rolls, and a thai noodle dish with peanut sauce and cilantro. so yummy😊
Love your videos! I made the potsticker noodle meal tonight with half coleslaw mix & half broccoli slaw. Turned out great! Thanks so much for the inspiration! For sure going to be making this again! ☺
The meal you have made isn't my cup of tea frankly....sorry!!! But I use sometimes the colslaw mix, not to much because it's full of chemicals for keeping the veggies fresh longer......But sometimes I put in eggs rolls or in in my BEST veggies/barley soup recipe of mine or in my meat stir-fry with upon noodles recipe....and love it in my Thai salad with dry Chinese noodles, clémentines, sprout beans, slices of chicken and my special salad dressing, olive oil with teriaki sauce and with ranch.....so good!!!!
Hi Ang, For Memorial Day I made Paula Deen’s Apple Cranberry Coleslaw. My local store was sold out of regular Coleslaw so I used Broccoli Slaw and it was Amazing. I maybe making this again very soon for a non holiday dinner. Give it a try.
I use cole slaw mix in my corned beef and cabbage. I have arthritis in my hands. Chopping cabbage makes my hands throb for days. I also make my stuffed cabbage like lasagna. Make the stuffing mixture and layer it in a casserole. So good!💝
I forgot to say how quick and easy it is to use slaw mix for Okonomiyaki which are Japanese pancakes topped with mayo and a chili sauce or a Korean style bbq sauce. Yummy snd economical, especially if eggs are not crazy high priced and really inexpensive if you have your own egg laying hens.
The cabbage and perogies is actually an easy and clever take on a Polish dish called Kapusta. It is delicious. It is usually made using sauerkraut or shredded cabbage sautéed like that. I forgot about that dish!😋
Hi, I'm a newbie, and just subscribed. I really like sauerkrauat. Do you have any recipes I can use with it bedside just on the side or on a hamburger or sausage dog? I enjoyed your video.
I add to my sauerkraut ( cooked or raw) any or all of these; various types of diced onions, diced apples, celery and/or seeds, sweet and/or hot peppers, carrots, cranberries, orange cubes and/or zest, apple cider vinegar or a few dashes of balsamic vinegar. We love it beside or mixed with various sausages, or pork, or chicken cuts, including hotdogs & hamburgers!
I really loved all of the ways you used coleslaw..interesting I was tempted to buy a bag of coleslaw today at the store but I didn't. I especially liked the sliders. Thank you so much..new subscriber. God bless you and yours as well.
If you love coleslaw, you'd probably enjoy it asian style as well. Just add a few sprinkles of soy sauce and a couple tablespoons of sesame oil and sesame seeds along with the usual dressing. It's delicious. Thanks for this video! ❤
Each one of these recipes is a "keeper." I love anything with cabbage. I have never used rice noodles and i will be giving those a try. Thank you for the great recipes.
I made the first recipe you shared. My husband really likes it and he's hard to please. Thank you for sharing such an easy, tasty recipe. I'll also try the other recipes.
I make the Periogue, sausage and cabbage all the time. My family loves it. I also add a dash of caraway seed. I don't know where I got that from, but it is great
Fry the coleslaw mix to desired doneness in oil then douse with raspberry balsamic vinegar and serve as a side. Goes well with roasted sweet potatoes and smoked sausage coins. Good with pork too.
I am 76 and have been a connoisseur of coleslaw my entire adult life! I must try all of these, especially the pasta salsad.. You are right now new to me and I liked and sub'd. Thanks much for sharing
Thanks for connecting with me Kathy! The pasta salad is probably my favorite out of all of these. It's so saucy and full of great texture, I love it! I hope you enjoy them all!
I have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. Anytime I go to anyone's home that they use it in dishes it all tastes like soap to me. One of my friends knows that, so she puts it on the side so people can add it.
Before I had my daughter I also thought it tasted like soap or maybe even dirt. I didn't like it at all! Now I can't get enough of it. Kind of funny how it changed for me. 😄
Well some I've come up with on my own but I get a lot of inspiration from my friends, family, Pinterest, and here on TH-cam! Sharing recipes is so much fun!
I always buy tri color cole slaw and just add dressing. You can also put it on tacos instead of lettuce or buy the broccoli slaw and add about a cup full to your coleslaw for more nutrition. The same with shredded carrot.

you don't need to cook the rice noodles, just soak them in water. They will cook in the sautee pan.
I did not know that I appreciate the tip! The noodles do release a lot of starch so maybe it would be wise to increase the sauce? I'll have to experiment. 🙂
I would do spaghetti noodles
That could work just add a bit more sauce because regular pasta noodles will absorb a lot of it. 🙂
It bugs me that TH-cam knows what I buy at the grocery store.

The little bags of broccoli slaw and super blend at Walmart are also good for stir-fry recipes, they make good veggie omelets as well.

I love how relatable you are, youre just real! Like i'm watching a friend cook, great food, great vid!
Thanks Holly! I try to be myself as much as I can. I hope you enjoy the recipes:)
Just found your channel! Love it!! These all look delicious ❤
It really is expensive to eat out! I hope you get to try the recipes!
I *HONESTLY* want to make every recipe for a get together. ❤
Me too 😊
Awesome ideas ! Thank you
You're welcome, I hope you enjoy the recipes!
just so happens I have a head of purple and half a head white cabbage (was going to make a huge coleslaw to take to a party, but it got cancelled). This gives tons of extra ideas on how to get through it all without od'g on coleslaw! lol I think some canned beans in the pasta salad would be awesome and some crushed peanuts on top of the rice noodle /pork dish would be great too. Can't wait to try these out.
Well perfect! And I love the additions you suggested!
Am a new subscriber. Will be making your coleslaw-additions recipes soon. Thanks for sharing your ideas. 😊
I'm definitely trying the coleslaw/pasta salad recipe. I'm always looking for ways to use the coleslaw mix. I put it in stir fry, hmde egg rolls, and soups, Now you have given me a pasta salad recipe to use it in. Thanks.
Ok. I finished the entire video. I am adding ALL of the recipes to my rotation. Yummo!
You will love the pasta salad! At least I think you will. 😄 I can't get enough of it!
@@kentuckygirl8369 I hope you love them all!
Okay, I want your coleslaw salad! Love all those ingredients and great texture with the nuts and seeds.
Love cole slaw but no sugar in it. I like walmarts green cole slaw. no sugar and has a kick
Good to know, Amanda! I'll have to check out their slaw.
Hello, new subscriber:‐) You had me at ❤COLESLAW ❤ I look forward to trying ea h and everyone of these and seeing what else you posted! Thanks 😂
Thank you Vicki! I truly hope you enjoy the recipes! I appreciate you connecting with me in the comments!
I like to add a few chopped peanuts to the top of these types of dishes. Great video.
Thank you! Peanuts would be delicious, especially with the noodle bowls. I appreciate the idea!
Without the rice noodles that is very similar to what I've used with rice wraps (spring rolls) or rice vermicelli (mei fun or rice sticks that soak only) for a cold noodle salad in the summer. June - Sept is too hot and I want cold foods.
That sounds perfect!
After opening rolls leave bottom cardboard on......then slice rolls. Since the rolls stick to cardboard it is easier to slice them. Remove cardboard after slicing.
Been using Coleslaw Bags in my dishes as main staple for a long time 😊yummy Coleslaw Goulash Dishes are my favorite ❤
Just found your great channel. If your celery is limp, cut off root end and put in a glass of water for about 30 minutes and it will crisp right up. Works for soft broccoli and cauliflower too. Keep cooking!
I appreciate the tip and thanks for connecting with me in the comments! I hope you enjoy my channel. 😍
I use this to make spring rolls. The only thing I use coleslaw mix for!
😅❤
Just me but I all ways rinse and wash those bag salads , I just think they can carry extra moisture that should be washed off
For people who don’t like all-in-one meals (my daughter), cook the sausage whole or halved next to pierogi cabbage mixture.
Omg yes! Making this tomorrow with leftover pasta!!
First time on your channel and I am ALREADY HOOKED and subscribed!I'm only ⅔ of the way through the video and there are so many things I like. (I couldn't wait to start telling you how excited I am about finding you.)
First off, I noticed you are very personable and real; very genuine.
Take care!
Wows chicken sliders imagine a cook out burgers 🍔 hot dogs 🌭 & chicken sliders
Mmm & hot dogs 🌭
Cole slaw on top a friend said try
Loved it
😀
Limp celery is revived if you cut it off the core and soak in cold water with a little ice for a few hours.
great ideas! i normally buy cabbage whole, but got a deal on 2 bags of the mix. i used it as a base for salads, stir fry, shrimp spring rolls, and a thai noodle dish with peanut sauce and cilantro. so yummy😊
Ohhh.. now that Thai noodle dish is calling my name! All great things to incorporate cabbage mix. Thanks for the ideas as well!
Love your videos! I made the potsticker noodle meal tonight with half coleslaw mix & half broccoli slaw. Turned out great! Thanks so much for the inspiration! For sure going to be making this again! ☺
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thank you for sharing your changes. 😍
Looks delicious,thanks for sharing.😊
The meal you have made isn't my cup of tea frankly....sorry!!! But I use sometimes the colslaw mix, not to much because it's full of chemicals for keeping the veggies fresh longer......But sometimes I put in eggs rolls or in in my BEST veggies/barley soup recipe of mine or in my meat stir-fry with upon noodles recipe....and love it in my Thai salad with dry Chinese noodles, clémentines, sprout beans, slices of chicken and my special salad dressing, olive oil with teriaki sauce and with ranch.....so good!!!!
That's okay! Everyone has a different taste and meter for what's important to them. Thank you for sharing your ideas!
Fantastic,fiber I need.THX.
Thanks Barbara! Sounds delicious!
I make egg roll in a bowl using the cabbage slaw. Love it. Thank you for sharing these menu ideas.
So convenient!
I use cole slaw mix in my corned beef and cabbage. I have arthritis in my hands. Chopping cabbage makes my hands throb for days. I also make my stuffed cabbage like lasagna. Make the stuffing mixture and layer it in a casserole. So good!💝
That is a great idea! I love stuffed cabbage rolls but don't enjoy the work. Layering is genius!
Great tip, thank you!
I love anything with pasta,my allergy specialist told me I'm addicted to carbohydrates. I seriously crave it,I'm 78 been that way my whole life.
I am definitely team carbs! Bring on the pasta anytime! 😃
The cabbage and perogies is actually an easy and clever take on a Polish dish called Kapusta. It is delicious. It is usually made using sauerkraut or shredded cabbage sautéed like that. I forgot about that dish!😋
@@kandid898 that is super neat, thanks for sharing that!
Thank you Kathleen! I hope you enjoy the recipes and I appreciate you connecting with me in the comments! Take care!
If you love coleslaw, you'd probably enjoy it asian style as well. Just add a few sprinkles of soy sauce and a couple tablespoons of sesame oil and sesame seeds along with the usual dressing. It's delicious. Thanks for this video! ❤
Love the soy sauce addition! The Teriyaki chicken sliders in the video has an Asian inspired slaw with sesame oil and siracha. Super yummy!
“Lesschopping” happens to be my middle name, if you can believe that….😉 Subscribed
Ha ha!
My husband is VERY LOUD on calls, too! Thanks for the great recipes, I’m gonna try them all!🤤
Oh man! It truly must be a thing! lol 😆and you're welcome!
Wash the celery in cold water. It sometimes crisps right up.
Someone else mentioned this also! I need to remember this thank you!
Each one of these recipes is a "keeper." I love anything with cabbage. I have never used rice noodles and i will be giving those a try. Thank you for the great recipes.
@@paularizzo5217 you bet! It’s nice to have new ideas but still easy enough to make. I hope you enjoy them! 😍
Coleslaw mix in bag, has funny taste, I guess to preserve it, I would use fresh, I make myself
You can absolutely use fresh instead! 😊
I like the convenience, but I've e stopped buying these. I think about nutrition that has been lost from something chopped up days before.
I get that. 🙂
Shit yeah…funny that AI has a lot to answer for.
14:32 potsticklers I need to tell Mom, to see if she will agree to make it. It looks awesome to me! 🎉
Yes you should!
Make it.
I made the first recipe you shared. My husband really likes it and he's hard to please. Thank you for sharing such an easy, tasty recipe. I'll also try the other recipes.
That's great to hear! Thank you for sharing that!
I make the Periogue, sausage and cabbage all the time. My family loves it. I also add a dash of caraway seed. I don't know where I got that from, but it is great
Oooo I love the flavor of caraway seeds that would be a fun ingredient to add!
Angi you read my mind all these recipes look amazing. Great execution.
@@juliewood6513 I hope you enjoy them all! Thank you! ☺️
I love these recipes! What a nice variety of tastes. I cannot wait to make the pot sticker one for my family! Thank you❤😊
It's super yummy, I hope you enjoy it!
Fry the coleslaw mix to desired doneness in oil then douse with raspberry balsamic vinegar and serve as a side. Goes well with roasted sweet potatoes and smoked sausage coins. Good with pork too.
Yum! Thank you for that simple idea!
My family loves coleslaw and we have it often. I never thought to cook with it until seeing your video recipes! Thank you!!
I’m so glad Carla! I hope you enjoy these recipes!
I just found your channel. These recipes look fabulous. Thank you.
Oh good! I hope you enjoy the recipes!
I’m making loaded pasta salad ❤
I have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. Anytime I go to anyone's home that they use it in dishes it all tastes like soap to me. One of my friends knows that, so she puts it on the side so people can add it.
Before I had my daughter I also thought it tasted like soap or maybe even dirt. I didn't like it at all! Now I can't get enough of it. Kind of funny how it changed for me. 😄
Cook chorizo, add coleslaw mix, add lime juice and cilantro.
Yum! That sounds delicious!
You are My one of My new favorite cooks. Your food looks amazing.
Thank you! I truly hope you enjoy the recipes!
Seems like you like to develop your own recipes. They all look great.
Well some I've come up with on my own but I get a lot of inspiration from my friends, family, Pinterest, and here on TH-cam! Sharing recipes is so much fun!
