Howdy, you mentioned a clear coat but didn’t share what it is… what clear finish do you recommend? I am hoping to achieve a nice shine without an obvious heavy build up on the carving. Thanks 🙏
So you dont seal or oil before painting? Do you do sanding sealer or anything? And thanks so much for the video! So grateful for the effort and all the information!
you really over simplify things here. most people that are gonna paint have a working knowledge. I skimmed over your video and didn't really learn much
Thanks for posting! You provide a very easy shopping list to get started, what to buy and how to use it.
Please keep sharing your work!
Thank you
This is one of the best videos Ive seen yet on painting wood carvings, or boxes and much simpler - thank you so much!
Thank you
Just found your channel. I hope you continue to post videos like this. I’m sure all beginners, such as myself, appreciate it. 😊
Thank you
Thank you for this great informational video.
Will help me tremendously!
Thanks for the tips
After watching this one, I realize I do need to make a painting video. That will come soon. Keep in mind this video is titled "Get Ready..."

In general, no sealer. Not to say I haven't tried that in the past, but I prefer to just paint right on the wood.
It would be nice to buy a mug like that.
Very nice and informative video. Thanks! Greetings from Norway :-)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I didn't see where you sealed the wood. Do you seal your wood?
You certainly could seal it, but I just paint on the raw wood.
good just give us more about painting
Can you be more specific about what you'd like to see?
Was hoping to see actual tips on painting... I’m guessing we all know we need colors of paint, maybe how to keep thinner paint from bleeding etc...
Intended for beginners.

That's OK. I was directing to people who fear or don't like painting and was hoping to get them started. I appreciate your comment.
The video is to help Newbies.
