Smaller tire sidewall translates into less tire flex and more responsive steering input, but also raising the likelyhood of loss of traction. This is the entire (performance based) reason that big rims come on preformance vehicle, its not purely aesthetic. Bigger tire sidewalls translate into more tire flex, and thus a larger contact patch on the pavement and better traction. It makes perfect sense from a preformance standpoint to have bigger wheels on the front of a RWD vehicle, especially a front heavy truck that needs extra help hooking the rear tires. You may not like the look personally, but these are the facts. On a truck, the offset in wheel diameter allows for both better traction to the power wheels and better responsiveness to the steering wheels.
@@boostandoctane6368 beautiful truck man thank you for the info. I keep trying to find somebody that has one to see where the shifter is going to sit at. you know
Wow very nice must be fast! If you can hookup! I owned a 93 C1500, I bought new, that was a loaded at that time called a Silverado Packaged Chevy C/1500, that was a beautiful light silver, with awesome grey velour type interior with separate high backed captains buckets with arm rests and huge console, both seat were power adjusted with power windows and locks, sliding rear window, automatic climate control, AM/FM Cassette w/Equalizer an built in CB. Had chrome bumpers, grill, door an tailgate handles and 15/9” chrome slotted steel wheels just like the 454SS. It came with a TBI 350, with a 5speed stick and a 3:42 posi. I ended up yanking the engine with only 38,000 miles, to sell to one of my brothers, who was rebuilding a sweat 1970 C/15 step side. That gave me the perfect opportunity to buy a GM Performance Crate engine, one of the new Vortec 5.7 LT engines, well built at a local machine shop with a nice torquer cam, headers and new HD clutch, with added traction bars, with lowering shackles in the rear leaving a slight rake. I also added some sweet adjustable KONI Sreet Shocks to hold everything down, with some trick looking Dunlap Sport Truck tires in a 275/50-15 front 305/40-15 rear. Man that was once sweet reg cab short bed! I had the speedometer buried on there more than once. I remember a local car club and Oldies Radio Station had organized an supported a local 1/4 mile drag race, at a closed local Naval Air Base in N. Kingston, R.I., to raise money for the on site Air Museum! Over $25,000 in one day! I was able to make three runs, one practice and elimination on my second run after that. My best time was 13.2@101 mph! I thought a beloved to this day was fantastic!! Considering I beat my first race, a sweet looking 78 Dodge Little Red Wagon! Only to loose to a 69 Dodge Super Bee!
Ay bro i do these story type comments too especially when it something im passionate about or the good'ol days. My 1st car was a 90 iroc with the 5.7 grad gift in 2000 n my 2nd car was a 96gmc stepside n man it was hard to decide what to take out on a warm summer Friday night. Lol. I always wanted to really get into the engine n tranny of the truck but having it bagged it just didnt make sense dumping a bunch of money into the motor. Im building a obs stepside now for my son not doing bags on this one it just kinda ruins the truck imo.
Damn this thing is sick. Makes me want to build my 92 stepside into a little 300hp truck. It’s a 5 speed 4.3l right now. It’s a woods camper for long trips though. Just would be nice to have something that pulls just a little more lol.
A FBO 5.3 with the truck Norris cam and tbss intake manifold would make 300WHP and be very dailyable and would probably get better gas mileage than that boat anchor 4.3
Does it have AC? I know some of these Cheyenne’s, including mine, came factory with no AC. If you or your friend added it, I’d like to know how y’all did it?
Holy cow, kind of work looking with the bench seat, but that engine, exhaust and straight drive? freaking awesome I had a 90' Silverado and now a 94' Yukon 2 door I'm working on

Is the driveshaft the same the truck comes with or got it from the CtsV?
Sweet truck did you use a kit to change the stick position on the t56?
Nice truck but never put bigger wheels in the front 💯
Okay so drag radials don't exist anymore....

T56 magnum has 3 different shifter positions so I was able to make it work

My ceramic coated hooker headers rusted too. So I went with stainless headers.
How was the reverse lock out wired to that button on the shift knob
It’s just a power wire to the lockout on the trans. It’s grounded all the time. Power wire to the button and power from the bottom to the lockout
All smiles over here dude. It sounds nasty.
Extremely clean OBS chevy truck. If you swap the bench for buckets and a center console you'd have my dream build
