I cannot overstate how much I prefer a fender flare that is completely molded into the panel instead of just bolted on. The aesthetics after bodywork and paint are just so clean and elegant. Good work shaping them, too. Looks good. I like the way you wrapped it under the front of the car.
This long dent on the roof which you tried to hammer out actually is a sign that the roof is the original from BMW, and has not been replaced or something. That´s something not many people know about. I learned it from an guy in germany who has about 15 2002s in all kind of variants. Like an ti or even an tii. But it looks sick painted 👌 Happy new year und für die Deutschen hier drunter Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr ;)

Man, I miss my 2002. Those fender flares look sick. I was hoping to put some box flares on mine. I also had a manual 190e 2.3 (8v) that I had to get rid of. One day I'll have the money to buy my 4 dream cars - 2002, 190e, Mercedes SLC (C107), 70's 240/260/280z. I gotta buy a house first, so I'll keep driving my prius for now haha

@@FhVW ik gebruik de hamerite verf ! De gladde en niet de hamerslag. Uiteindelijk ziet dat er toch mooier uit. Binnenkort al de draagarmen er mee doen. We will see over een paar jaar!

SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC... there was a guy on instagram about 10-12 years ago when it first came out that had an all white 2002 that he had grinded random shapes into the bare metal with a 1-2" gap between them so that when the shapes rusted turning orangeish brown and stained the white paint that was left between the shapes... it looked exactly like a giraffe print... so cool.

Can you explain why you didn't strip the entire car, remove the paint, repair, fill, prime, and paint in that order? I'm sure you have good reasons and I like to learn. Personally, I would have taken the steps I outlined if I were going to do all that work on such a beautiful car, but that's me, and I'm sure we would have different priorities. Thanks!
Great work guys, back in 82 i had an Agave green 73 that i changed the color to black. Are those VW mk1 golf flares, i like those more than turbo flares.

Those metal flares aren't repair panels from MK1 Golf/Rabbit? BTW Vibrant did great exhaust system for 2002 on their youtube channel ask them if they can make the same for you.

Great video! My personal constructive Criticism: It'd be nice if you'd get more of the thought process into the video that'd be very interesting. What to look out for while painting, body working, welding......maybe voice over would be a nice way to get that in. Have you seen the videos from stance works ? He does a fabulous job on the videographic part!
