  • Its that time of the year when our giant cherry blossom tree puts out some of the prettiest pink flowers, but did you know they were also edible? They dont taste like much raw, but with some time and effort, we can turn them into a super fragrant and unique tasting garnish!

That cherry blossom tree is gorgeous! And another brilliant video. Love seeing your process for the things you produce.

Can you do a taste test of the cherry blossom syrup you made now that your allergies are starting to clear up

Loved the video! Just thought about what to do with the flowers as I drove by so many of the trees here just today, being in full bloom aswell.
    So, two things,
I'm REALLY curious if, what you made with salt, would also be possible with sugar. It atleast should, since its similarly hydrophile.
That way you could hopefully make a lovely floral syrup for Lemonade or cocktails.
In general I primerally would be not about preserving the flowers but about isolating their aroma as intensly as possible in something that can be used several recipes as a substitute for let's say Elderflower syrup.
Second of all I definetly would recommend trying to pulverize the fully dried flowers to have some very unique way for let's say topping/garnishing the foam of sour cocktails.
    🌸♥

All i can think about for the flowers is these clear tiny cherry blossom candies ive had...they had a bit of salty flavour to them. But seeing the salty vinegar, i wont lie, i wondered how it would go on chips 😂 i hate vinegar on mine but would try it just to say i had. Really loved this video! 🌸💗

Why do my preserved dried flowers get eaten by some tiny insects and turned into dust?

Hey! Did you find what to do with the vinegar since last year? 😊 I know I love plum vinegar in rice with ghee.

Have you tried making jam with your Sakura? I am going to try it. Have you tried making tea with your fermented cherry blossoms?
