I have 3 onyx 3 opal 2 thrust and a slash ammy with 3 ele aversion and 5 resil. Im a healer that run 200 con and still get hit for 5-6k per heavy. In a competitive environment like wars where you have 4-6 bows running together that 3 2 1 healers from 150 meters away and far from any danger. Dex can just sit back not having to worry too much about anything and if they get chased, they have so much mobility that its almost impossible to kill them. A strong and coordinated bow team can single handily carry wars, especially on defense. The point im trying to make is that bows can just sit in a safe spot and pull 30+ kills without having to risk anything. Any coordinated bow team will wreck you from a 100 meters out, regardless of what gems you have. Lets not get into the boomerang tracking on bows because thats also another reason why bow is so broken. Not to mention the fact barely did anything to the bow next patch but nerfed all the damages on everything else. Bows will still become a major problem and maybe even worst in the next patch.
I would agree that cordination with a bow team is deadly. But bows still have weaknesses like line of sight. A very thought out plan based on positioning for a favorable fights out of Line of Sight. Again I feel like changes to enviorment and more places to hide from range is a better alternative then just nurfing damage. It highlights strengths of a class while also attacking there weaknesses. I hope this is what pvp and map/open world is geared more toward, But thanks for you insight and what you think. Its a good perspective.
@@ripdigits 90% of everything is open fields. Line of sight is not really a counter. There is a reason why range builds and light are the most popular thing in this game. Easiest escapes, easiest to stat pad (how many times people toss aoe or an arrow knowing dam well they not killing you?), easiest to land hits, easiest to get the last tick on a kill. New world has pvp issues that they can no longer be fixed because we are far to deep into this game... in my op after coming back. Nothing has really changed. Im still near unkillable as a healer. Healing is way too good. Im not even good at the game and I can heal my son with zero con in giant zergs and he lives. Its not hard to stay alive and just roll around. To counter healing/light armor / run away meta that's been the same from day one.. They increased aoe garbage,slows, added some anti heals (which a healer can out heal) and the like. As a healer I rather they nerf my self heals then do anything else but then you run into the problem of range.. If a healer can not self heal they will just die constantly to range. So how can you balance that? Then with all the added slows, stuns and kill joy mechanics to keep people from iframing into freedom.. You cant just nerf heals There is no balance to this nonsense. They should of never made dodging=invulnerability like they originally planned. All armors travel the same distance and remove the massive aoe nonsense that's everywhere but this wont happen. So enjoy wars being often one sided or having arena or opr nearly always ending in a fail if you have no healers. A team should not be at such an disadvantage because one side has more healers then another. The meta is so brain dead we have assigned groups in wars who are the "kill groups" This still has not changed from day one (A group that locks a healer or player and just spams). They run around with little to no con and have baby heals because thats all you need. You can do some very idiotic builds when you have a healer. Anyways just ranting on.. My son and I are disappointed in this game.. it could of been so much better. Came back after so long and its just all pretty much the same. Nice to see the old gangs again and to shot call wars but it does get old.
I’m not against musket but is there anti gear for musket I mean If u like 60% thrust they will do like more Element dmg to u same as nothing I once had a all thrust gem bro was hitting for 2.5k-3.2k
1 thrust gem + 1 slash gem is the same as 2 onyx gems with free strike protection. You're probably not dying to hammers that often anyways but it's just something to think about.
You say @9:21 that you put in an additional opal(making that 2 opals for 5% general magic resistance) and say that fire staffs were noticably not hitting as hard.. and then you mention @10:00 that you don't have any elemental aversion. You really felt like the 2 opals made a big difference? Not that I disagree with your thoughts in this video in general, but I've also seen someone with 29.4 thrust resistance take a 5k arrow, while mitigating 4.1k dmg.
Ya its huge. Every test ive done where i have changed these out its made noticeable differences. ele and physical averision are the perks u can put on armor which are different then the gems but i wanted to let you guys know that I dont even have those resist perks on my armor yet which help with the autos of damage considering that all extra damage comes from base damage you do to someone. So because of this it decreases stuff like bleeding, burn, and all of the extra damage from runeglass that as well because that stuff scales off damage delt to a person.
Just FYI, in OPR when you hover over their weapons and they're grey and don't show perks, It's just bugged, you can rarely see people's actual perks, Also damage mitigation is about to get changed pretty drastically, for the most part people just use onyx's or opals unless they're healers or dex they prioritize thrust res, melee bruisers will more than likely be a thing of the past now and you'll see nothing but skitzo's, dex, and mages, so good luck lol
Brother I gem perfectly have near 30% thrust protect and pretty much bis and I'm still getting his for insane numbers. Like 6k+. People out here on these 5 con builds with aimbot or are the most goddly aimers I've ever seen in any game ever and it's like, there is no counter play
All of my experiences in every server i have played has showed me if im dying after i slotted correct gems in the manner i showed in this video. It has never been because of gems its a key ability im not aware of that is there whole damage. If dodged then i survive. If not there ganna hit me like a truck ie - the pen rapid shot i showed in this vid or rend. This is the beginning of me figuring out where damage is coming from and how its alot or when its alot. Not just blaketing "bow is broken"
@@ripdigits If the damage is coming from a skill or perk that can't be impacted by gems, elemental protection, pots, consumables ect, and proper gearing, then bow is broken. It doesn't matter what skill or perk combo it is. If you can't counter play with gear in any way. It's broken. Of course dodge is the answer. Dodge is the answer to avoid all dmg regardless of the weapon but it's about what happens when you can't dodge. Which in a 20v20 capture the flag match with a lot of open range and low cover is often. I've been playing since beta, I'm a big run the numbers, do the homework guy. I think meticulously about my build and others. When people bitched about Gs, I didn't see it. I watched how they moved and adjusted. Same with mage meta and every other thing people have claimed to be OP. But bow, and to a smaller extent musket are off the chain. They've been running the top of the kill charts for a long time now and that really speaks for itself. No single shot even from a glass cannon should be able to smash out 60% of your health. And they're doing 60% of my health in bomb gear. That's a near 1 shot for a lot of people with less optimum stuff. Overall TTK needs reduced in the game. Bow is a good place to start.

After you reslotted your gems and went back in your gameplay was completely different so that being said and anybody can see it in watching your video you're not giving an accurate account of actually how the gems are really working. It's good to see that you can put a comment up totally ignoring the truth of the aim bots.
