- How to install Holosun HS507C X2 or 507C red dot sight on a Staccato C2 Duo pistol. This is a very detailed installation step by step instruction. I will explain each part, each screw, which wrench to use.
I will show how to remove the current Dawson Universal Optic plate. Which screw hole and which screws, pins to use for the holosun red dot sight.
How to apply the loctite / thread lock on the screw.
Basically everything you need to know about installing Holosun Red Dot Sight on to Staccato C2 Duo.
The Holosun Red Dot Sight uses the same mount as Sig Romeo Zero or Trijicon RMR. So this video instruction should be applicable to the Sig Romeo Zero / Trijicon RMR as well.

I wanted to see you struggle getting that first iron sight screw off, I am having a time with mine. You made it look easy!
Staccato C2 Duo + Holosun 507C is the perfect match!
@@MatchGrade308 I have astigmatism in my dominate eye, so red dots look like commas and starbursts. The circle-dot pattern of the Holosuns are 1000% better, almost crystal clear for me. So before you make some claim about "wrong", it's best to consider what others need.
Fantastic video
Waiting on my staccato P duo ❗️ can’t wait …..
Nice! Let me know how you like it!
@@scienceofarms yeah I’ll put a video up soon as I get , pretty pumped
@@tacticalfirearms45 Awesome, I'll be looking forward to seeing it!
Your video was very helpful while I was trying to install my holosun RDS. Thanks
Thanks man, your video helped me figure out how the staccato c2 duo optic mount system works.
Excellent video. This was my first time installing one. Thank for keeping it simple.
Thank you for watching!
Forgot the o-rings that go under the plate
Thank you!
Looks like a lower 1/3rd co-witness! Perfect! Thanks bro! 🤙😻
Can you share the link for the base plate or dawson
Thanks for the video I am going to purchase a Staccato C duo tomorrow I was wondering if the Holosun 507C red dot would work as I already have one.
It is a great dot and it works really well! Hope you enjoy your new handgun!
Which screw, long or short? Or does it not matter?
@Robert Torres the LONGER screws are the right ones
HOw do you like the Holosun? I am a Trijicon guy, but Holosun has been making pretty good stuff?
I have the Trijicon RMR, I wonder how good the Holosun is for half the price? I hope you do follow up review
Holosuns are fantastic. Trijicon hopefully will step up their game. And many RMR'S are cheaper than higher quality holosuns
you said to use the longer screws from the Holosun box then you changed later in the video to use the small screws. I used the long screws and it seems to be just fine. So what is it?
@Russ Dennis I just rewatched the video, I believe the LONG screw is the correct ones.
@@scienceofarms Thank you!
Nice video and instruction. Curious, the Dawson Iron sight in the back that has a little screw in it does that screw go down into the plate? Or is it really only those two screws to mount the adapter plate down we have to worry about before attempting to mount the Holosun 507c?
@M Bailey please rewatch 2:27 you should notice the new plate does not have the iron sight screw going through the bottom. I believe the screw in the iron sight only used to adjust the iron sight only.
@@scienceofarms You are correct. That screw holds down the rear sight to the plate, while the smaller screw is used to hold the plate down to the slide.
I cannot for the life of me get the original sight/plate. I have stripped the Allen key…hopefully I haven’t stripped the head of the torx screw smh
Do you have to buy the kits? Or do they come with the optics ready gun
So, the older model Staccato (before 2020)used to come with the mounting plates, but the ones made after 2020 stopped shipping with the mounting plates.
I was confused by the long screws first and later the short screws
Yeah, that part was confusing for us too but we ended up using the short screws and it has been working great ever since.
@@scienceofarms The longer screws won't seat all the way down.
Point of warning! The screws included with the Dawson kit correspond to the LONG screws of the Holosun 507C.
Very important do not run your slide until the loctite dries Wait 24 hours if you're not sure and your screws will never walk
What # bag were the screws that you used for the adapter plate
Did your Staccato come with the various base plates, or did you have to buy them separately?
Yes the Staccato came with many base plates.
@@scienceofarms Just received my Staccato C DPO and had to buy a separate base plate because I wanted to mount the 508 T. Apparently, the 508 T requires a separate base plate sold separately. All good.
@@bamahi7142 oh ok that is interesting i did not know that. Is the new base plate still made by Dawson optics?
@@scienceofarms Yes. I ordered it from their website. It's specific for the 508T
@@bamahi7142 oh thats good, I hope u have been enjoying the Staccato as much as we have!
Will the Holosun C fit a single stack Staccato C?
What is the height of the front sight you’re using? After installing the same rear setup and RDS in this video, the stock front is too short. DP mentions needing a higher front sight, but not sure which one to get for 1/3 co-witnesses.
I believe for the Staccato, if you use the regular height front sights it will work fine. It is just a matter of which rear sight you use, and it is all included in the Dawson precision kit.
thats not an X2, thats the first one they came out with...
@NajFinesse Are you sure? I looked at 14:08 and it is clearly stamped as X2. So you are saying this is a fake X2?
@NajFinesse I also have another video unboxing the Holosun 507C X2 video here: th-cam.com/video/SDuFUbpPst8/w-d-xo.html
@@DIYGEEKTEXAS i’m not really certain but if you look on holosun instagram and look on amazon it shows that the + & - buttons are bigger on the X2 and the original 507c buttons are small. Like the one in the video
@@DIYGEEKTEXAS also the new X2 have “X2” on the front of the box
@@Naj2jacked I think Holosun made 2 versions one with big buttons and one with smaller buttons. They are both called the 507c X2 for some reason, and then there is the 507c V2 with vertical buttons, but either way the installation should still be the same for all of them.
It looks to big for the firearm
