Welcome to "Tales from Tuscany"!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!

WE'VE jumped forward with the vlogs to give you an "up to date" idea of what's been happening since we returned from our fabulous but "very eventful" trip to France and northern Italy.
We had to miss our trip to gorgeous Lake Como and visiting the beautiful Alla & Sergi @DreamingofAChateau which really upset me, but I know we will get there!
I'm recovering quite well now and managing to potter about and do a few little jobs, which really helps my recovery psychologically. I love being involved.

Thank you so much for joining us on this homecoming catch up! As many of you will know, I'm quite badly injured after a fall in our hotel on Lake Garda but I'm settling into home life again now and hoping that my recovery won't take tooooo long!!! We hope you enjoy! 🥰😘

Even the rainy days and dark cloudy skies didn’t detract from the beauty of Chianni and the lush surrounding countryside. The more I see on your vlogs, the more appealing it becomes, Also, loved the antique warehouse in Biscottini and your newly acquired treasures. It makes me even more determined to visit, purchase and start decorating my place in Tuscany and get all my “ stuff” out of storage UK and over to Italy. Thank you for inspiring us and not letting crutches prevent you from filming. Your plans for the exterior of the house look exciting - love that re-discovered window and your ideas for a bigger open plan kitchen. It’ll all be worth the noise and dust when it’s done. We do keep busy, regardless of my injury but David is taking extremely good care of me along the way.
The light covers are a little way off yet as we are doing a lot of “dirty work” first! However you’ll get to see the exterior house reveal soon and it’s glorious! We are totally in awe and in love! Thank you so much for joining us and best wishes! 🥰♥️🇮🇹🤗

These are our first renovations Valerie. We’ve never done any major works prior on our home. These new works will include the cantina renovations. 😁🥰

Yes that's our plan but as I explained we can't immediately as it wasn't passed by council, so we will do that in the next stage of works. 🤩👍
