I say Binge and Purge era. Thunderous and aggressive sound to those massive babies. But there's lots of love for the Load sound for sure 🤘🏽 I love the sound of them especially during the 1999 S&M concert.

I think it's a Tama bell brass. He used that live up until st anger, then he switched to his signature snare. If my mind is correct, he used it in 2003 at the parking lot gig, the last time it was used live.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the tone, it just doesn't fit with the tonality of the song and the mix feels very empty as a result imo. To each their own, of course
i always liked their smaller stage set ups better than the monstrosities they have now. their setup nowadays is too fucking big. in my opinion, less is more. smaller compact stage setup with the audience in front of you. not around you 360 degrees. i dont know, just the way i feel. seems more intimate and cool looking.
