    One of my favorite sounds...my second computer had a pair of ST225s and yeah there was zero doubt if that machine was turned on or not. The resonance of those drives in a big steel enclosure sitting on a big wooden desk was nuts.

      That's right :) Today, even a person cannot imagine it. SSDs everywhere .. I still have a video with the ST-4038, I'll add it today.

    It didn’t initialize properly, seems like the stepper motor might be sticky/has trouble turning. With a little bit of oil it might be able to work properly again. I really like the sound these drives make when they work and when they park the heads, really unique.

      I thought it looked a bit unusual from the normal self-test I've seen on other working ST-251's!

      Všechny kousky co jsem měl se chovaly stejně. Hlavy jsou vždy uprostřed, možná je to jakoby parkovací pozice.
