I bet your ass that compared to a MSI GE72VR with i7 and gtx 1060 that costs about 1200-1300$ you can't build a much better PC including RGB keyboard, display, speakers, motherboard with killer wifi and bluetooth, dvd drive. And also add one of those devices that keep the pc running after a power outage (about 100$). Make it in an ITX format and you will be very close to the laptop's price
That's more powerful than laptop. However these laptops cost $2k-$2.5k... that's like dual 1080, i7 6700k ( no point to use 6core for gaming), 16gb ram ( not needing more) and insane storage ( m.2 ssd, big secondary ssd)

I have a cousin who's wife works for the US state department in Macedonia, and his Lenovo Think Pad crapped out on him in October of last year, and he went to go buy a replacement, and he was so shocked by the higher prices in Europe he held off buying one, got an Asus Chromebit, a wireless Logitech keyboard, and mouse combo instead as a hold over, and waited till right before he came home over Christmas for 2 weeks, and ordered a new laptop from the US Newegg website, and had it shipped to my aunt, and uncles place so it would be there when he got there, because he said was almost a $600 US difference for the exact same computer. Now that's fucked up indeed.
Buying Razer products directly from their website results in an insane ripoff if you're in Europe. Well, at least in Scandinavia. I can't say for the rest but I'd imagine it's the same just about everywhere except the UK. Over here in Norway it's better to just buy from tech stores that sell Razer products as they're way cheaper, likely have faster (and often free) shipping as well.
Problem is that the tech stores here in Switzerland know about the price change and it costs the same everywhere. Also i just checked, if you use a VPN the prices don't change but i'm not sure if its legal, safe or even possible to buy one over a VPN and send it to Europe.

Yeah, almost things are perfect except with that unnecessary huge bezel that even my old laptop from 2010 have way slimmer than that. I actually don't know how come laptop bezel gets this so huge in the first place. Especially for non-touch screen ones. I hope they at least just straight up get same XPS slim bezel even we sacrifice the camera angle. HP and Lenovo already went with similar slim bezel thing and even HP manage to put webcams on top. I also wish Razer start to redesign their company logo with something bit more sharp modern looking and less tacky one.

I have had my Razer Blade for 2 weeks now and love it. A Macbook pro in black with Windows on it - personal wish come true. However, I have noticed some strange-ness to my QHD screen.. it looks dusty and not brilliant white if I have a blank document open. It is even noticeable on Windows white framing. Has anyone else experienced/noticed this? Linus? I have made contact with Razer Support and waiting to hear back from them. OMG, THANK YOU! This, in part, is an honest, unbiased and professional assessment on the topic of screen resolution! I tried to tell a friend that I don't see a difference between his 3k 13inch MacBook and his old 1440x900 MacBook (other than the former had a huge yellow taint lol) to which he got angry, as Apple customers usually get in alike circumstances. There was no way to make him believe that I truly don't see a difference (and my eyesight is very good, I never needed glasses and probably will only a couple decades from now). Now, higher resolution than FHD is nice, but at least for me, that's only relevant on a 24 inch and up display.

I just recently paid far too much money to import a blade into my country that doesn't sell it. Probably an additional 1k in tax and import duties, but it's a great machine. Really worth it.
Hey Linus what are your thoughts on all these failures on razer systems? For example, putting VBIOS windbond under the heatsink when its rated at 85C max, POWER AC and BATT MOSFETS failing, inducctors failing, finding shorted diodes and open resistors everywhere, and a lot more? Are you concerned about any of this? Or is it not much of an issue seeing as you usually upgrade each iteration?
It depends what you plan to do with it. What your needs and typical uses are. For good durability I usually suggest The higher end lenovo thinkpads or Dell XPS series is good.
Watching this video in 2021 and still games run really well in past hardware with no problems so nothing much has changed at all he still talked about 4k gaming
All I will say is that magnetic power cords are a pain in the ass. I have a Macbook pro and the charger gets knocked off if it slides around even a little, meaning that you have to essentially charge it on flat surfaces only.
I just got the Razer Blade 17 Pro 2022 and looking at this one is insane. I originally looked up why my screen has imprints from the keyboard. On a $3,000 laptop I would expect better but idk if that's just normal for laptops honestly. Anyways hope you guys aren't working to hard today. Peace.

I'd still get a Dell Precision instead. Xeon in a laptop is something else for workflow and battery longevity (Hint: CPU Caches and Huge amounts of ECC RAM plus dedicated upgradeable Quadro cards). Also, real carbon fibre display lid and Magnesium bottom.
The Razer Blade Pro keyboard is actually good (but small) in my opinion. The problem is no one is used to it. It's better to get your USB mouse and keyboard from Razer than using the built in ones.

I tried to tell a friend that I don't see a difference between his 3k 13inch MacBook and his old 1440x900 MacBook (other than the former had a huge yellow taint lol) to which he got angry, as Apple customers usually get in alike circumstances.
There was no way to make him believe that I truly don't see a difference (and my eyesight is very good, I never needed glasses and probably will only a couple decades from now).
Now, higher resolution than FHD is nice, but at least for me, that's only relevant on a 24 inch and up display.

Hey Linus what are your thoughts on all these failures on razer systems? For example, putting VBIOS windbond under the heatsink when its rated at 85C max, POWER AC and BATT MOSFETS failing, inducctors failing, finding shorted diodes and open resistors everywhere, and a lot more? Are you concerned about any of this? Or is it not much of an issue seeing as you usually upgrade each iteration?
It depends what you plan to do with it. What your needs and typical uses are. For good durability I usually suggest The higher end lenovo thinkpads or Dell XPS series is good.

All I will say is that magnetic power cords are a pain in the ass. I have a Macbook pro and the charger gets knocked off if it slides around even a little, meaning that you have to essentially charge it on flat surfaces only.

I just got the Razer Blade 17 Pro 2022 and looking at this one is insane. I originally looked up why my screen has imprints from the keyboard. On a $3,000 laptop I would expect better but idk if that's just normal for laptops honestly. Anyways hope you guys aren't working to hard today. Peace.

I'd still get a Dell Precision instead. Xeon in a laptop is something else for workflow and battery longevity (Hint: CPU Caches and Huge amounts of ECC RAM plus dedicated upgradeable Quadro cards). Also, real carbon fibre display lid and Magnesium bottom.
I bought a Precision earlier this year. :D
It's a great workstation machine, but a waste of money if you're just going to game on it.
The Razer Blade Pro keyboard is actually good (but small) in my opinion. The problem is no one is used to it. It's better to get your USB mouse and keyboard from Razer than using the built in ones.
