These are perfect for the "1" shoe rotation person. I got them to replace my superblast 1 and nimbus 25. Took them on a 7 mile test run and they work great to go fast and slow. They are a fantastic shoe to get out the door and run however you feel that day.
Fabulous shoes. I bought these over the Nimbus because all the reviews I read said the Glide rides were plush but not as squishy as the Nimbus. I’ve done one run and they are really comfortable. A plus is the new blue color way !!! 😊 great review as always Matt.
I like the looks and technology of the shoe. It doesn't look overbuild, bulky. Probably even better option that Novablast in ASICS' lineup. Clean implementation. However, I have so multiple shoes filling that spot that I will pass but I would definitely recommend someone to look into it. PS. Thanks on the tip for Peg Plus today.
Brands don't make it easy to make a shoe decision with so many options that overlap. Still, I suppose if shoes feel good then people can choose based on appearance or the description of features. It's even more difficult for us that already have a lot of shoes to justify a pair that's just slightly different.
@@Fozzee.1970 It’s really a sweet spot that shoe companies are finding with this type of shoe. They’re able to deliver a high cushioned shoe and still able to make it a fun ride!
I'be been enamored with the GR Max since it's release. However, I'm still uncertain as to where it would fit into my Asics rotation: Novablast 3 for recovery/easy/long up to 14 mi; Magic Speed 4 for tempo/threshold; Metaspeed LD for track/speed/VO2 max; Superblast for long runs >16 mi plus long with workouts; Sky Paris for race day. The Novablast 3 is near end-of-life. Rather than replace the NB3 with the upcoming NB5, can I replace it with the GR Max? Thoughts?
This "problem" seems to be the exact problem faced by people because of the multitudes of shoes released and the overlap of they're used for. I still haven't ever run in a Novablast, but they seem a little more well-rounded than the Glideride. Still, you know what the GR feels like, and to me that's biggest thing the shoe offers. It's definitely a want-to-have rather than a need-to-have.
Would this be a good show for walking a lot? I’m hoping to find a shoe that I could take with me while traveling for a lot of walking but I could also use for slow easy runs. These look interesting to me. I’ve tried NB 1080s but my feet get fatigued pretty easily.
I tried the glideride max and the glycerin max today and decided to get the Glideride Max. I am a small woman with narrow feet and the upper of the Glycerin max was way to big for me (the length was right, but the upper had too much volume). The Glideride felt more nimble and the ride felt more natural. The service person in store also wasn’t very excited by the glycerin max.
@@noahsmolsky4434 thanks for the info! I really appreciate it! I really like the Nimbus 25 so I figured the Glideride Max could be an even better version of that.
@@michaeldominic2070 We’re really spoiled for choice when it comes to max cushioned shoes. The Glycerin Max is also something to consider but as Noah said, it has a little more volume in the upper, which may be a good thing if you have wider feet. The rocker in the Glideride Max makes this a smooth ride. Maybe not smoother than the Glycerin Max, but similar and very good.
Hi Matt, are Glideride Max and Evo SL comparable shoes? I’m running in easy paces, mostly comfort (fit, volume) and some stability are what I’d like to know. Thank you !
@@ser1ification Hi! No, the Evo SL and Glideride Max are not comparable shoes. For easy comfortable miles with a stable ride I would go with the ASICS Gel-Kayano 31. From your description of needs it sounds like the Kayano will be ideal for you.

I don't normally like shoes that are too mushy. These are soft but still tick you over sometimes quicker than you think you are going.

@@its_Matt_B_ I thought the exact same thing. What's the old saying? Buy on impulse, defend with logic.
Buying a pair of these once some other colours are released.

Yes, I think these would work well for walking due to the rocker. They'll be a good option for using for both walking and running.
Trying to decide between Glideride Max, Puma MagMax, and Brooks Glycerin Max! Any suggestions?

@@michaeldominic2070 The Glideride Max is the firmest of the lot.
How do they compare to the NB 1080 v14?
The rocker profile of the GRM makes the ride much smoother than the 1080.

Hello. Do you know how many centimeters high they are and if they would be useful for me to walk only. Thank you
44mm (4.4cm) in the heel and 38mm (3.8cm) in the forefoot. Yes, these would work well for walking.
In Europe, the Nimbus is 20,- more expensive...
