  • Replacing the Centrifuge/PVC housing cover and Oil Drip Pan on a 2008 Mercedes Benz C300 W204 Class. These models are common known for these oil leaks after hitting certain mileage on the vehicle. Tools you will need are a T30 socket, E8 socket, ratchet, adapter, extension, swivel, and other misc tools to get the job done. Mercedes Benz part number are: Centrifuge A2720100631 and Oil Drip Pan A2730100162

"Oil cover COOPLING" made my day. Great video helped me big time.

Thanks! You helped a great deal. Mercedes really sucks for the poor design on the air intake manifold actuator breakage and the near impossible position of the oil drip pan.

Very informative. My M272 just reached 150,000 so im going through everything and noticed oily gunk along the intake manifold which may be originating from these breather areas. Just ordered the drip pan, cover and the oil seperator that is in the drivers side also. Im seeing oil residue around the throttle body as well so will take all that stuff apart and give it a good cleaning.

I just was in the engine bay and the bolts holding the cover on take an E10 socket to remove, not T30. Looks like I'm going to have to buy an E10 wrench to get the two outer bolts out.

Also don’t for get to replace the partial load oil separator on the top front of the other bank. Without doing that, this service is incomplete. They recommend replacing the hose too but it can be cleaned out and put back on.

I had to do this job on my E350...Oh boy!!!! I was probably cussing and fussing at every German engineer who worked on this design for placing that part in that spot with no room to work...

Someone charged my wife 400$ I don't think they did the job right.. it's been leaking oil every since the service is done.. Everytime I get a oil change they point it and say take it to the dealership.. I'm going to do it myself..

How tight do you tighten the oil drop pan? I didn’t want to make it too tight or too loose.

Tight without stripping. It's reverse thread for a reason so won't spin off with the engine running.
