- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021-2022 in the Lok Sabha. For the first time, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a paperless Budget. Significant announcements included a slew of hikes in customs duty to benefit Make in India, proposal to disinvest two more PSBs and a general insurance company, and numerous infrastructure pledges to poll-bound States. Fiscal deficit stands at 9.5% of the GDP, and is estimated to be 6.8% in 2021-22. Personal income tax slabs remain as is. Here are some of the key highlights from Union Budget 2021.

The only concession given to the Salaried persons is that few lucky ones still alive after 75 years and getting pension big enough to be taxable,may not have to file the 2 page return now. What a big favor ! Thank you Modi Sir!
That's why they introduced that as it did cost much to the Economy. As Covid shorten the treasury there isn't much they can do atleast for this year. Wait for next year if the situation goes well

The VPF was the safest way to build some money for retirement for the middle class . Tax exemption is reduced to 2.5L from 7.5L. No change in tax slabs too. Budget is not giving any importance to middle class. A bit disappointed.

Exams will continue as they normally do, just the fact that they'll work more efficiently. The problem is that many people still run for Government jobs, and then get lazy after getting one, which inturn increases corruption and beauracracy, but Privatization will ensure that it won't happen in future. And why are you running for government jobs anyway ? Skill up yourself, explore different fields, learn management and entrepreneural skills, Private sector is open for everyone.

We have sold Rs-1600 per bag in 2016 but in 2021 we sold it for Rs-1150. Please put some educated people analyse the data but don't mislead the country...

Middle class workers don't wield any political power bro. So they will be thrown around. Just ask a simple question, can the 2 crore of the middle class stage a protest asking the government to scrape Income Tax. The answer is probably No. They can't, that's why they are sidelined tbh.

Because the state has always performed bad at policing, worse in healthcare & education and atrocious in the "ease of doing business". I really don't think people should be paying this much tbh.

And 30% is not on complete 30 lakh income.
It's 0 till 2.5 lakhs
5% till 2.5 - 5 lakh
10% from 5-7.5 lakh
13% 7.5-10 lakh
And after that 20% till 30 lakh
So average tax is 18% if you calculate.

Apart from opening more sainik schools, government should upgrade the infrastructure of the existing ones. As the schools depend on finances from state and central govts for running them, it is imperative that the present status of the schools are studied and remedial actions put in place.
