- In this series of videos, we are going to decode the shlokas from Bhagavad Gita, through the lens of sanskrit grammar and vocabulary.
The series is aimed at anyone who is willing to dive into the beautiful world of sanskrit language and its goldmine of literature. And by decoding and understanding sanskrit texts like a stotram, mantra, subhashitam, plays, poetry etc. we are going to slowly and steadily get familiar with the why's and how's of sanskrit language, its grammar concepts, its vocabulary and how the language is used in practical sanskrit texts.
The idea is simple and that is to learn sanskrit, so that we can pick up any sanskrit literature and understand its meaning ourselves without the help of any translation.
So I welcome you all, in this journey of sanskrit self learning.
You can refer to the time-stamps below for easy navigation through the video.
And with the most sincere and heartfelt salutations to Shri Krishna, let's begin !

Thank you🙏
I admire your understanding of the need of today’s student of Sanskritam. Hence your presentation of the subject. Your command of the language and that of the subject matter is prasanshniya. God bless you
Having drifted away from the sanatana dharma and then finding my way back again, I only try to provide sanskrit language and its texts in a way that might generate interest and curiosity in the young leaders.
But thanks for your kind words and I am glad you are enjoying the lessons. Happy learning !
Very nice good effort brother.
Glad you enjoyed it bro.
For a Sanskrit learner like me your videos are a great help as it strengthens vocabulary, grammar and understanding of Gita
I am extremely glad to hear this. As I have experienced this for myself, after completing just the first two chapters of Gita this way, at least the initial intimidation of sanskrit rules is overcome. So happy learning !
Namaste and dhanyavadah,
Very precise explanation and I am sure listeners of your vedios will become Grammer experts within no time.
Sanskrit Grammer taught in 100 hours is learnt by carefully studying your 10-15 slokas.
So beautiful explanation and most convincing .
I'm extremely glad to hear this. I hope that these videos would build up some familiarity with how this language works. Happy learning !
Chapter 2!
Fist pump!
Yes! 🙂
Thank you so much for making these videos. I love your step-by step logical approach, and the fact that you don't transliterate.
haha yeah ! This chapter has a lot of interesting stuff, both sanskrit language-wise and also very reflective of the teachings in Upanishad. So I'll try my best to convey both through these videos.
Saw your video for the first time yesterday..Excellent...started studying Sanskrit after retirement and your video is just too good...very creditable that youngsters are taking interest to teach others..God bless your efforts

Your explanation for Geetha sloka is excellent ❤. Please make videos for all slokas
Can u please clarify my doubt about Gerund how
"Pach" dhaatu becomes "paktva" Gerund. I tried to apply sandhi "kharicha" but not getting result.
Cooking into having cooked
Please clarify...
Hi, I am glad you enjoyed the video. And yes I will cover all the shlokas of the 2nd chapter of Gita.
As for your query on how पच् + क्त्वा = पक्त्वा.
So whenever any प्रत्यय attaches to any धातु, apart from the basic सन्धि rules, there are additional सूत्र that bring in their own set of rules, very specific to the धातु and प्रत्यय in hand.
One such सूत्र says, चोः कुः i.e. चवर्गस्य स्थाने कवर्गादेशो भवति झलि परतः पदान्ते च ।
And due to this additional rule, the "च्" here in the पच् changes into "क्"
Hence, पच् क्त्वा = पक् त्वा = पक्त्वा
I hope it answers your question.
