I have great respect for Dr Debroy. A rarest of grounded veterans and a great Human being. Hindol is a super act. As an elder citizen I am proud to claim that he is a fellow Indian. Gulati is no stranger and lamentably is underrated. God bless you folks. Sage Ashtavakra is one of our tallest rishis , a brahma gnyani. Eons of hindus have revered Him so much.

Fabulous discussion. A good initiative. A coincidence that I read an article about pleasing people and taking charge of your life. Life Positive July 24 issue. A quote by Mahtriya in the article " Enough! Stop blaming the world and God for everything. Grow up and take responsibility for your life. You are the co-author of your life. Own up and hold the pen.Write your own story. You are the one who can define what you want your life to be. " Thank you . 😊 🙏

Wow, it was amazing to listen to this. This is what journalism should be like, not just shouting in debates. Thank you. Yo might not get views initially, but I hope you keep persisting and I am sure you will find success

Stress to Serenity by Amar Chandel was so fantastically satisfying spirituality and very much helpful in developing a critical- reflective attitude in me! Previously I was fooling around all dry literature, wasting my precious time! Life is short, live simply with a lot of mindfulness!

Intellectually understanding slokas and even memorizing them with padach--chedam and etymology a is one thing And internalizing the central message without caring for the verbosity of the slokas is another thing that has nothing to do with the former.
The latter is on an entirely higher orbit.
The first one often makes one a good conversationalist in social gatherings to talk about Buddhist and Sanatanis, and French and German philosophers, and his the charvakas predates the Greek hedonists to impress your “sophisticated” audiences.
I am reminded of a phrase from vivekachoodamani:
    शब्दजालं महारण्यं चित्तभ्रमणकारणम् ।
    अतः प्रयत्नाज्ज्ञातव्यं तत्त्वज्ञैस्तत्त्वमात्मनः ॥ ६0 ॥
Translation: The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest which merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.
Shabda 37:12 -jaalam mahaaranyam Chitta-bhramna kaaramanam.

    🙏Hare Krishna 🙏
We all come to know that Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead from Bhagwad Gita.
In 10th & 11th chapter of Bhagwad Gita Krishna has manifested audio and visual about Him to Arjun.

By a quirk of fate it seems there is a little bit of Ved Vyasa in Bibek Deb Roy otherwise he would not have done all these translations - the divine or natural forces acting in mysterious ways

Ashtavakra was 12 years old and janak was more than 50 years in age. Lust doesn't belong to kids and lust doesn't belong to a person after age 50-55. A kid takes knowledge as it is and a person after age 50-55 can take knowledge as it is and can free from now. If a person will live alone on this planet will he be able to do something bad. Good for others or because of and bad is also for others or because of others.

If us Ashta-VAKRA Gita and not Ashta-VARKA an the speaker says in his opening remarks.
He should go and learn how to read Devanagari script correctly.

Intimate understanding of oneself is the need for every one, however is no urgency of this is felt. This is because one is not convinced that one can not be happy nor be secure by things of this world nor by any human relationships. Until such a time no amount of reading any of these enlightening scriptures is of no value.
