Aaron, as a totally new player to any music! May I say how easy and brilliantly put in simple terms that even I can understand is so helpful. Gratitude.
Thanks for that. I'm very new to music theory and have been struggling with the Co5. Whilst I've understood it (kinda) ... I've never really understood the point, other than a neat pattern. .. Your tutorial gave me an answer (finally) to the 'so what?' question that I've been harboring. .. Cheers!
Aaron, thanks for putting this together. This will come in particularly handy when playing with others and someone wants to transpose a song on the fly -- which I find hard to do in my head on the spot.
This is a GREAT resource that beginners absolutely need to learn first! Until I found free lessons online, to RE-familiarize myself with the chords that make up the major keys -- C.G.D.A -- I used the Circle of 5ths. My initial 60 day self-teaching course consisted of learning & PLAYING improvised medleys of the 4 keys -- WITH MY EYES CLOSED -- interweaving the keys amongst themselves. And on each chord or chord family, I consistently practice 2-3 various strums & pickin for dynamics. Thank you! 🙋♀️ Ms. CharLee @Ragamuffin_Ukes @Plazi
Wow. In painting, there is a color wheel like this with color families that go well together. I never knew there was such a thing with sound. It's like Da Vinci Code stuff. lol
So if you know what key you are in, it will always be in the middle, and the chords of the left and right and below will tell you what will complement that key? I noticed every chord you mentioned was in the center and two chords were on the left and right.
This is the best explanation there is on this. However, pls enlighten me. I am a beginner, without background on music. How do I use this on my ukulele playing? Thank you
the circle has two side openings...are those notes/chords also part of chords that go along together? they are openings but you never went over them? If they don't relate to the chords when using the circle on top with the opening why does it have those two openings on the side??
I am not a member of uu+ neither do I play ukulele, but the circle of fiths is a very handy tool and this design is cool. so I was wondering if there is a way download it so can print it?
@UkuleleUnderground I went to their website trying to find "UU + Home -->Resources" like they say, but this must be ONLY for paying members because no where in their website there's a "Resources" tab. Disappointing!
NO, I do not see any UU+Home. Regarding: Download and print the Circle of Fifths Diagram - log in to ukuleleunderground.com (Click on UU+ Home → Resources)
I have no idea WTF you are talking about. This is not the basics. Flabergasting people from the get-go does not encourage them to give you their money.
Uh .. right from the get-go this seemed a bit off. He said the related minor had "all the same notes". No .. it has 2 of 3 same notes. The "A" in Am in NOT in the C chord. Nor is the "G" in the cMajor chord in the Am. I quit listening at this point and am amazed at all the great comments.

You’ve explained this better than everyone else !
And I’ve watched 4-5 different videos. You found me where they lost me.

Best explanation I've ever heard.
Excellent. You went to the point among the many I have heard. It is tye lionkage of the 5th notes of the scale.
Congratulazioni, bellissima ed intelligente presentazione. Grazie

So if you know what key you are in, it will always be in the middle, and the chords of the left and right and below will tell you what will complement that key? I noticed every chord you mentioned was in the center and two chords were on the left and right.

Hey Joel,
the two side openings are just to make turning the wheel easier. Sorry for the confusion.
the download and print the chart is no longer available it seems for non members?
I like this version of circle because it includes the 7th notes of the scales
Hi, I went to to the link you said to go to to print out the circle and couldn’t find it. Thanks.
I am not a member of uu+ neither do I play ukulele, but the circle of fiths is a very handy tool and this design is cool. so I was wondering if there is a way download it so can print it?
Emmanuel Dominguez yes...you can download it from Google...
Thank you for such a simple, easily understood explanation.
Clear as mud!
How can I buy the Circle of fifths device shown?

Its the note to the left of the (pair) of black keys on a piano. Always that place on a piano. :-)
Roland Galind
Middle chord in window is the l chord.chord to the left is the lv chord.finally chord to right is the v chord.think Roman numerals.1,4,5 progression.
Wow you got that far, I got lost after Hey Everybody
thurgogopro I got lost before I finished reading the title of the video.
thanks man
THANKS!
Is this a free peintable?
This is awesome I don’t think the link works anymore.
Is there a circle for minor chords?
Does this work for open g tuning? I’m getting a baritone ukulele and I want to play in open g tuning.
this works for any instrument!
Counter clockwise it's a circle of 4ths.
@UkuleleUnderground I went to their website trying to find "UU + Home -->Resources" like they say, but this must be ONLY for paying members because no where in their website there's a "Resources" tab. Disappointing!
If i start with G key wats gonna familiar and relate wit it?? help
where is the augmented?
Please make a tutorial of "MY grandfather's clock". Thank you.
what if you start at f#/Gb, what will be the fifth chord
DFlat, just look at the next . It doesn,T come more easy with this circle.
Hey what about us slow people? We need drawings and stuff because you just went on and on but I don't even know how to make a sharp or major
So I quit at 2:45
I remain absolutely nonethewiser. I think a cricket bat would be easier to absorb into my brain than music theory, my skull is impervious.
Don’t know what a 5th note is so am lost from get go.
there is NO UU+ Home - Resources!!!
Nope, you have to scroll down and join UU- which is a pay to join
NO, I do not see any UU+Home. Regarding: Download and print the Circle of Fifths Diagram - log in to ukuleleunderground.com (Click on UU+ Home → Resources)

español..... por favor....
El no habla ese idioma. El va a hacer sus videos en el idioma en el cual habla y en el cual tiene su website. Vas a tener que aprender Ingles.
It's wrong..the fifth of B if F# and it's fifth is C# not Db
I can't tell if you're serious, but if you are, I am just going to let you know that C# and Db are the same...
Yiannis Constantinou C# or Db is the name of same note...it's known as
Enharmonic notes in music theory..
Uh .. right from the get-go this seemed a bit off. He said the related minor had "all the same notes". No .. it has 2 of 3 same notes. The "A" in Am in NOT in the C chord. Nor is the "G" in the cMajor chord in the Am. I quit listening at this point and am amazed at all the great comments.
He's talking about the scales, the C major scale and A minor scale do all have the same notes, they just start from a different point.
good info. If you left out the words "kind of", you'd sound alot more authoritative.
Now your teaching music theory? Use proper terms like tonic, dominant, etc
