Maestro Grieg knew perfectly symphonic orchestra with his all colours and combinations, beginning from strings and ending with brass and percussioni. He developed and orchestrated these dances wonderfully ❤️

Which is why we come on Bartje Bartmans channel to discover these gems. I notice its played by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, one of many quality regional orchestras. Nice music.

I’ve loved the second dance for over 4 decades and only recently found out what it was thanks to classic fm. Would love an easy piano version to have a go at playing 😊

Some of the harmonies seem very modern and forward looking. I wish orchestras would perform this more in the concert hall.

The orchestra I am part of would have performed this in spring 2020 if not for the pandemic. Such beautiful music, it is a shame we were unable to perform it. I love the intensity of the beginning of the 4th movement!

È un ottima composizione,molto simile alle Danze Slave di Dvorak, anche se più compatte.
