  • Logan, John and Jay ‪@DaxWoodsWanderer‬ spend 3 Nights and 4 days canoe camping and trout fishing on St Regis Pond in the St Regis Canoe Area. We catch a bunch of fish, make some amazing camp meals and have an epic sunset on night one. The loons on this trip were extremely active and vocal and we have a very close up encounter with several of them.

    Awesome video John and Logan, thanks for showing us how to identify Splake, a fish that I have never caught.

      Thank you so much. It’s not always easy I messed up the first fish ID.

    Looking beautiful out there if a bit chilly. Crazy how unphased those loons were letting you get that close. Y'all eating like kings out there too.

      It was very beautiful but not too chilly for April. We’ve had much colder temps in the past. The loons very very chill, active and vocal. Thanks for watching.

    Just a great trip and video. Score getting the lean to... then heady topper... then that sunset.. then Logan landing that laker all in the first night. Impressive camp cooking too. Nice job on the editing. Nailed it.

    Looks like it was a great trip! I'll be heading in there myself in a few weeks! Some of the best fishing I've had in there was in the pouring rain, but it was a lot warmer weather. 🙂 I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.

    Another excellent video John and Logan. Wish I was 30yrs. younger I miss trips like that, but my 70yr old body won't let me do it. Quick question what type of head lamps are you guys using, I have 3 different ones and none of them throw light like yours.

    • @ADKAddicts
      @ADKAddicts  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you Micheal. My lamp is just a 400 lumen Black Diamond. Logan’s is a super bright lumen lamp off Amazon. I’ll get back to you with the exact name and link asap. Thanks again for watching.

    That looked like an awesome trip.
    The gear junkie in me wants to know if that’s a new griddle (grease spout in one corner and it looks deeper than Jays) and, if so, what details do you have on it?
    Ok, now I want broccoli!
    I don’t think I’ve ever said that before 😂

      Thank you. That’s just the one we’ve been using for a while now. Just an aluminum non stick we took the handles off on top of a couple of stoves. Thanks for watching.

    What a great trip. I just got back from there as well and actually stayed at site 12 since the lean to was taken. I enjoyed that site. I didn't have luck fishing, although to be fair I think I might have only fished in total 2 hours or so. Not sure what depth to troll at this time of year, so I went with like 12 ft thinking that might split the difference between shallow and a bit deeper, but I was just guessing lol.

    • @ADKAddicts
      @ADKAddicts  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks you. We were having luck anywhere from 10 to 30 feet trolling around the islands and deep channels as well.

    I liked the look of your canoe trolly
    What are they called or where can I find that type of trolly.
    Also liked your video, thanks

      I’m pretty sure you’re referencing the big one Logan has. He made that out of a jogging bob stroller. Mine are just a set off Amazon. Thanks for watching Colin.

    I got up to Saranac on Saturday, water temps where 48 degrees. no luck fishing but it was a nice boat ride to test my new lower end of my motor. then it started to rain and i decided to drive 4 hours home lol. it felt great to get out on the water! only campers i seen where a group at your spot. even tried the clown lure lol with no luck. do you guys' troll the ledges or middle of the narrows?
    2 weeks I go for 7 days where there will be no turning back can't wait.
    keep me in the mood with all your videos I need more.

      In the spring they are spread everywhere it’s so tougher. But we troll pretty much everywhere. We have a big submerged boulder and a few humps that do well but generally we stick to 20-30 feet unless they are on the weed lines then shallower.
