Fun times!! Cade will be hooked for life on camping. So cool to get him out early. My boys were young when we started and both still love the outdoors!! Stay safe!!

That’s awesome. Cade is starting to love fishing now too which is great. Thanks!

Easy trip with carts. Was there in April. Still snow. Trail was icy. I didn’t want to deal with flies. Bloodsuckers they are!!! Live and learn as I have. I bring a pole/ reel repair kit with me now. Has various Rod tips, eyes, small tools, repair parts from a old reel, and good ol gorilla glue!!! Always a good trip to the ponds. Only a 45 minute drive for me. Thanks for sharing. Peace

Gonna start bringing a tip repair kit for sure thanks. The mosquitoes and flies were taking turns swarming us.

good for you! I am trying to do this with my daughters 6 and 10. My youngest wants my wife to come . She is scared to paddle to a spot. I hate campgrounds! Trying to figure something out that makes everyone happy!

Hey Michael try Floodwood Rd. There are car camping spots right on Pollywog and Middle ponds. Another option is Follensby Clear Pond. There are a few spots along the shoreline fairly close to the 2nd put in. I think there might be a trail connecting them and it shouldn’t be too far. If that doesn’t work try Fish Creek Ponds Campgrounds. I know you don’t like them, and neither do we, but they have some nice remote feeling sites back on the creek if you can get one. Right on the water and several ponds accessible from there. Also most of the sites on Follensby Clear are a very short paddle if you can get her to compromise lol. Good luck!

Water looks perfect for paddling. I've definitely been there paddling way out to get away from the black flies...they hang in there pretty far out :)

The only break we got from them was when the wind blew which wasn’t much. The water was perfect though for sure. Thanks for watching.

I've been camping in the ADK st regis since I was 12 years old. I'm now 30 and still go with my dad and once my sons old enough I'll bring him too. We have found going in the fall makes for less bugs but can get pretty cold. Where did you get your Mosquito net that you where cooking and sitting under and what is it called? I'm extremely interested in one! Each year we collect a bit more gear lol you never stop!

Thanks for watching Matthew. That bug net is one Logan got in the Army. You might be able to find one on Amazon, eBay or at the army surplus store in Watertown NY. Eureka makes a nice tarp with net walls called No Bug Zone Check that out it’s nicer. I found one like ours on Amazon here is a link, hope it works. Good luck and let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

How much was your canoe roughly.

I bought the previous years model for a $200 discount so after tax and the fabric yoke I bought it came to roughly $3,000. That’s a lot of money to me but It was some of the best money I’ve ever spent.

The Old Town Next canoe sells for about $1,000. The Swift for about $3,000. Sorry forgot there were 2 boats there.

John I can't believe you broke Logan's rods and let him borrow your least favorite rod. Unbelievable 😆 🤦🏻‍♂️
