  • Hey folks, I don't condone sharing plugin captures on ToneX ToneNet or ToneHunt etc but I can see why you might want these captures for your own private use. So here is a tutorial on how to use Reaper and ReaRoute to capture plugin chains in ToneX.

    Hi there! Would blackhole 16 work the same for mac?

    I use a physical overdrive pedal in my chain, so, I’d imagine my routing would be very different.. any tips? Do I need a Tonex capture in that case?

    Wow, thanks man!!! ... exactly what i was looking for, straight forward explanation, works perfectly: set up in 2 minutes and my first training is running now 🤟

    Thank you very much for this awesome tutorial! This is by far the easiest way to capture plugins with Tonex, however i have one problem: In the Tone Model Review step, there is no audio from the Tone Model, only from the "Real Rig". I left the routing exactly like it was, maybe this reqires different routing?

      One thing to remember is that if you don't set up a way to monitor Rearoute 1 and 2, you won't be able to hear anything, One way you can monitor is to add a track in Reaper that is dedicated to monitoring Rearoute 1 and 2 and the audio will play through Reaper. That's the tricky part with this, all of the sound coming from your interface has to come through Reaper.

    did this exact and am not getting any return playback from the hammer guitar input. so i cant set levels. any fix?

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you're not getting a return it means that rearoute isn't set up properly, ie it's not sending the audio from Reaper back to ToneX

    Whenever I do this, everything works right until I try to capture and it says silent recording adjust settings.

      Hmm that's weird. So before the capture you see levels in all the right places?

    Hi, i have a Focusrite 2i2 audio interface and the ToneX pedal and my DAW of choice is Studio One...What else do i need to profile my Amp Sims? can i choose Studio One instead of Reaper cause im not familiar with Reaper.

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm sure there are ways to do all of this with some kind of virtual audio cables, but Reaper really makes it easy with Rearoute. Given that you can try Reaper with full features for free for 60 days I would advise you give it a go with Reaper.

      So you didn’t need the Tonex capture interface?

  • @TudorAdrian
    @TudorAdrian 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    They removed the "modeler" feature in the VST version of ToneX. Can't model from a DAW for now

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I don't think it ever had that feature to be honest, you have to use the standalone, it's one of the reasons you have to use rearoute.

  • @zedkent4287
    @zedkent4287 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just to be sure, you don't need the tone x reamp box with this methode just the tone x pedal? I'm thinking of getting the tone x pedal to basically get the tones from my computer to the pedal but I don't really intend on getting anything else apart from a delay pedal at some point
    ahah

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You don't need any hardware technically to capture plugins, it's all in the box using rearoute.

      I have a similar idea, my idea is copy the amplitube 5 presets in the tonex pedal to have an amplitube 5 pedal XD

      @AnthonyBencomo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cosmiccrucibleso… I don’t need the physical Tonex capture? Do you need an interface? Is this all done via software? Don’t say in the box, that’s confusing! lol

    Well explained, but in MAC reroute doesn't work...How can I do?

    • @phil.oliver
      @phil.oliver ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve created a partition in my Mac with just to do these profilings. That was the best and most practical way I found

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      MAC actually handles audio better so I think any virtual audio routing solution that works on MAC should be able to be set up similarly.

    Whats the difference sharing a plugin on tonenet vs hardware? U are avoiding buying the real amp when you share captures what makes it any different with purchased amp sims? People even sell their captures of amps. I wouldn't encourage sale of amp sim captures though. Great video though. I was just curious.

  • @danielfazio3608
    @danielfazio3608 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry if this is a stupid question, but this doesnt require a reamp box?

    • @cosmiccrucible
      @cosmiccrucible  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not stupid at all. No need for a re-amp box when capturing software/plugins. It's all done in the box with digital routing.

      So I followed the steps of the video but tonex will not play the sounds coming from reaper. When I go out to the tonex standalone, the track goes offline in reaper and it doesnt pick up the sound. any tips or anything I am missing?

    Hi, I'm sorry but I don't understand how you have all those outputs and inputs, do you use asio drivers? I have the Behringer sound card but I don't have all those inputs and outputs... how can I do to have the same situation as you? It's not clear to me. Thank you

      they are ReaRoute, you enable them during the REAPER install

    6:55 44,1 kHz is ok, higher sample rates don't make sense for capturing. The internal process is working with oversampling and very smooth filters. I think you don't really understand the correlation between samplerate and aliasing. Recording in general higher than 44,1 kHz is just plain stupid unless you want to make music for bats or dogs.

    • @pipelineaudio
      @pipelineaudio 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At a higher rate you could filter out the aliasing frequencies at a place they won;t matter before returning them to the native sample rate....Of course this should be done in the plugin itself, so yeah
