I'd like to end this year with a double post. Another Shenmue-inspired piece as a little Christmas present for the few fans of that game who, as I know, stray here from time to time. For everyone else, one last save room for 2021 has been uploaded in parallel.
Thanks always. You sharing your magic with the rest of the Universe is the gift that keeps on giving. And I don't mean new music either. You've already shared so much with us. What an absolute treasure you are 😊
This game inspires so much feeling and nostalgia, that 80's Japan town setting is just breathtaking. Shenmue has always been in my heart since those days, thanks Survival Spheres for such a beautiful homage.
To be honest I didn't know about this game, but the graphics and music does give me RE vibes. Really beautiful soundtrack I really love! Hope we can see more of Shenmue in the future :D
Just when I thought you couldn't get any better than delving into Dino Crisis, you go and work your magic on Shenmue, my favorite game ever. It's the best Christmas present that I didn't even know I wanted. Thank you. 🙏
The cross over between Shenmue and classic survival horror turned out much bigger than I thought, and it makes me happy! Will make more Shenmue in the future, like every now and then.
Love the mellow sounds and Shenmue vibe! The rainy weather backdrop is a perfect fit to give a nostalgic and slightly melancholy tone. Thanks for the shout-out! It would be awesome to have some of your work featured in the Suka Pass app.
As soon as I've made a third song I will send you the package over. Getting added to the Suka Pass would be a great, GREAT honor for me, thank you for everything you do!
Thank you for so many shoutouts in the description, so very kind of you! 😊 What a fantastic mellow piece for Shenmue! Feels like I can hear all of the atmosphere…the rain, and the busy streets, traffic and busy people all in the calming nature you created! Great piece, will definitely look forward to more Shenmue pieces in the future! 👏
Pure atmospheric gloom and beauty. I haven't heard anything quite like this since early 2009, when I listened to the Hitman Codename 47 soundtrack after I started learning how to manage depression back then. Also, the footage of people appearing and reappearing is so subtle and powerful too. Makes me think of that ancient Buddhist philosophy quote "We are but microscopic grains of sand in a cosmic sand storm". Enjoy life as best you can, and at the same time, try not to harm the Planet and other people, both Human and non Human 👍🙂 Happy new year 😉
This is a heavily delayed reply, but your comment - like all of your comments - means a lot to me. And if you could name me a specific song from that Hitman score I'll sure take a listen. Your recommendations have introduced me to some good music before.
@@SurvivalSpheres No probs, you're a busy philosophical bee, always creating magic. I can't / don't expect a reply all the time. I don't know if you are familiar with this game here, Shenmue, but Ryo, the protagonist would agree and so do I. Like a meditative state... bringing us closer to the nature of existence.
Thanks Malek, glad to hear that. The game itself may help you on insomnia, too. It's very tranquil and slow paced, with immersive calm ambience especially at nighttime, when you literally have to bring your character to bed.
@@SurvivalSpheres that’s very kind of you, I’m humbled to hear you enjoy them! Yes I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Suka Pass, it’s an awesome app! I really hope to see your songs on there! It’s truly inspiring to hear your music! 🙂
Good to hear, and same to you! Just a question: Did you see a notification for my second post as well? I published two songs in parallel yesterday and would like to know if (and how) this special case shows up to subscribers.
@@SurvivalSpheres I don't miss subscriptions, since I always follow TH-cam's subscription feed. The feed lists both of the videos side by side. I don't have alerts set up.
I hear interpolation of Fl Studio, either with limiter or without. Modern synths interpol audio like this or something. This sounds combined POV of Ine-san and Fuku-san after Ryo's leave.

Great work :) Are there some particular vst/au plugins/libraries you are using for your ambience? I was mostly on a industrial metal side, but now I am more into melodic ambience as well.
All I used for this is a classic synthesizer = real hardware. A quite outdated approach, but my favorite way to recreate such oldschool sound. When it comes to modern industrial metal and the likes, it wouldn't be appropriate I guess. Can I listen to your music somewhere?

One of my favorites you did so far!
Cool, I like kind of like the dingy side streets and back alleys. The gritty city you can't see from the highway.

This is exactly what i expect when i google "retro ambient" but nothing of the sort comes up
Retro ambient.... powerful phrase. I also wish there was more of it. Play Shenmue 1, that's the best advise I can give you.
Dungeon synth is the closest genre I can think of when it comes to 90s video game ambience music.
