I am an IHG Loyalist and I love this card. Whenever we travel I email 2 weeks before for an upgrade and so far am at 100% getting the upgrade so my cpp is over 1.5cpp
Love the IHG Premier, I think it’s the best mid tier hotel card. It’s great in every category, SUB, multipliers, free night, status, credits you name it. Great video!
Great video! I was able to get it in the summer with the Five 60K free night awards and have already used 4 of them to book a Kimpton in Baltimore during memorial day weekend next year! I definitely need tips on the United Travel credit please! Good disco reference in the video too.
I got the Premier earlier this year despite being pretty early in my credit card journey. Aside from the welcome bonus, I had quite of domestic trips that so happen to be at IHG properties and I've been lucky enough to have caught two complimentary upgrades.
That's awesome! I too get upgraded pretty much every time I stay at intercontinental hotels. Domestic or International, the card works on so many levels
I want this card, but I have to wait till either I’m under 5/24 or they have a high offer which would allow me to apply and have a better shot to get approved. Great breakdown Lani! Merry Christmas!
As usual, great video, Lani. I agree that the IHG Premier is a great hotel card for people who stay at IHGs. However, specifically as a catch-all card, I would prefer the Chase World of Hyatt or Hilton Amex Surpass.
@@CallMeLani I totally agree that we all have our own preferences. I am just curious why you consider the IHG Premier such a good catch-all card given it earns 3x for everything else and IHG points are worth ~0.55 cpp.
Got the card. Glad to hear you like it. I am interested in your suggestions for how to use the United travel bank credits if you could share. Thanks, Lani.
Thanks Eric! I'm looking to make a video about travel bank and other cost saving methods early in 2025. If you haven't done so already, subscribe so you don't miss it. Stay in touch!
Great overview once again Lani. One aspect that I think helps bridge the gap between earning and redeeming is value. For example, the catch all is 3x but if you value IHG at .5 cpp like a lot (but not all do) that is really 1.5% back….on something like the CFU which earns 1.5% back I can transfer that out (and have) to Hyatt for 2x-4x so that means to me it is more like a 3%-6% back card. That being said the IHG Premier is on the radar but more than likely a late 2025 addition.
You're not wrong. But, I want to keep these BYA videos focused on the card and the co-brand partner itself. As always, appreciate you watching and sharing your info to others in the comments!
I’ve had IHG diamond a few times. Unless you travel to Asia a lot, it’s not worth it for USA travel. Please don’t spend $40k on this card. It’s not a good catchall.
Platinum for three years and diamond for two. Can’t say in the US diamond got more upgrades. Love the 4 for 3 rewards stays. Diamond gets you 30x. Don’t spend for diamond on Chase, it’s not worth it. Right before a trip, do a 10 night status match challenge. That’s how I got diamond twice. They don’t always offer matches, so hit or miss. 3x at 0.005 CPP TGP value, it’s not a great catch all. Don’t get me wrong, I love the FNA is great value for $99 and 26-30x point earner if you love IHG.
Thanks for stopping by! 🏨 Is the IHG Card on your radar? #Subscribe and let me know! Talk soon!
Never thought about a hotel card as a catch-all card. Also great info
Yeah, it's def a new perspective when considering your travel goals
Awesome video Lani, thank you. I'm all in on the team Hilton train, but after watching this, I will definitely take a look into the IHG program.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful! Hilton is my 2nd "train." I'll have a video focused on them coming early 2025
💯Great info 🤩Editing!!
Appreciate it, Lisa! Thanks for watching
Did you just Gloria Gaynor a credit card??? 😂😂 Nice!
🫣 You caught it!
Top notch video..This card is on my 2025 list..Thx for the overview
Appreciate it ! 💪🏾

I'll keep them coming! Thanks for watching!
Great video Lani! You got me thinking about getting this card now. I recently stayedat an IHG property and could see myself going back.
Glad you found it helpful! Appreciate you

Great breakdown!
Thanks, Xavier!
The Hilton Biz is my Favorite catch all until I cancle it 😢.
My Aspire and IHG Business will fill in that slot
Aspire and IHG cards are a lethal combo 💪🏾 Appreciate it Sledge
Love the IHG Premier, I think it’s the best mid tier hotel card. It’s great in every category, SUB, multipliers, free night, status, credits you name it. Great video!
Appreciate it, Cody
Good review man, had it for a year now for P2. Plat status is $$ in the bank and their reach internationally is undervalued
100% worth it if you plan to visit Asia
@@CallMeLani indeed, great deals everywhere

Thanks, Juan! United card breakdowns are coming in 2025! I'm glad you caught the reference! haha

P2 has the IHG Premier. I have the IHG Business. We used our 4th night free in Queenstown, NZ for an awesome stay.
Nice! The 4th night free is such a great benefit!

Thanks for watching, and yes, 100% pick the best card for your preferences. I just happen to stay at IHGs the most

Yeah I don’t know about this. Holiday Inns are alright though, decent places and better than a cheap motel.
Some Holiday Inns are very nice, but I would not recommend any hotel card if you're not interested in or planning to use it for the luxury properties
I hope that flawless rendition of “I will survive” doesn’t get this video demonetized😂
I'm glad (but not surprised) you caught that! but also,🤫🤫🤫

I'm putting this on my roadmap for late 2025.
It was a surprise keeper card for me!
how much is a point relative to a penny? I want to be able to look at everything in apples-to-applies of % cashback valuation
It can vary, but the averages are usually around 0.5-0.8 cpp
Ok...
👍🏾

As I said, "the option is there." I personally travel to Asia often, and see benefits from just having Platinum status
