The song structure is so genius. The lyrics are basically about someone gaslighting themself into believing this toxic and not reciprocated love is enough and everything they want. But a one-sided relationship will never bring satisfaction. That's why the song is all about building up tension, but never releasing it or coming to a conclusion. The song is supposed to make you pause and wonder why it feels so off-putting but addictive at the same time.

It's trying to give the fans what they want and then they turn on you, like Minhyuk not writing to fans and Jooheon playing golf. They got undeserved backlash for taking some personal time, yet they need their fans.

The way the song literally has the intention of pulling you in, but never actually letting you settle in one particular aspect of the song is so perfect for the chaotic, toxic love that they're describing, MX at it once again!

that why i love Monsta x so much after so many years of career they are still able to release quality music on a regular basis. no they never really had a big hiatus and they are still the major group of STARSHIP with now their little sister IVE. their rap line is still as monstrous . am I dreaming or SHOWNU is not in the MV??

Yessssss!!! These guys are grown-ass men, talented professionals, and it shows. Their music has a complex sound and layers of content that few other groups can match. Monsta X never disappoints!
What you said from 19:20 until the end is so spot on! Monsta X know what they are doing. They serve everything with intent and confidence. I think it's because of their experience - 8 years in the game, which for kpop is a lot. They have also managed to reinvent themselves with every comeback since debut, which is admirable, but also risky. However, I think that it pays off for them.
In the end, we are lovesick girls indeed. This comeback is crazy.

Edit: I have a theory, I kind of interpret this mv as almost a stan relationship with an idol... in the end there is nothing. It's not real, or maybe completely one-sided. It is a beautiful lie. Faceless masses, etc.

Toxic love? Monsta X love to live dangerously...!! The mv is really a great way to "show" the lyrics of the song. Broken glass, the chains, black and red... I love the contrast between their vocals part and the rapline... And always these beats!! Too short of a song, right!! ;)

Recently i saw a cover of one of their songs, and just like you said they did the same choreography as Monsta X, but some of the idols didn't capture that same stage presence that Monsta X have. You can't really recreate their feel 🫠

Ok i want to share a theory about this album it's gonna be long but hold tight.
So the part where joohoney says "dududu we are part 2" so love Killa from fatal love also has the same lyrics as "du dududu love Killa"
So reason could be a part 2 of fatal love and could be connected to it as both the song talks about toxic relationship and if it's true then there should be a part 3 also.
As previously also monsta x also released few songs around the concept of time traveling in 3 parts.
So fatal love is about a person just getting into a toxic relationship and reason is about them now stuck in this relationship. There could be another album about them greeting out of the relationship finally completing the triology.
Also if u look at fatal love and reason both album is mostly composed by joohoney and IM.
So it's possible they are going with this nerrative

i saw a few moments when image with Minhyuk insensibly changes into image with Joohon, it`s interesting, are they connected in this particular MV? are they probably the same person? also moment you liked 14:50 there`s Hyungwon turnes into Joohon in reflection, after Joohon turnes into Minhyuk. before your fav moment we saw that chained Hyungwon turnes into I.M., also chained. for me it seems like Hyungwon\I.M.\Kihyun are on one side of mirror and Minhyuk\Joohon on other, in reflection (letters above Minhyuk\Joohon also reflected), in other dimension or even world, in underworld i want to say but can`t because i don`t know clearly)) and sides are in controversies. 2:13 Kihyun tryies to fight against Minhyuk and croud, they like on different sides as i said. Minhyuk\Joohon both have fire background in some moments and it seems like they control this croud in black. they both+croud are like inner demons. Minhyuk\Joohon break the morror on floor, Kihyun gets hurt because of if on other side of morror. Hyungwon\Kihyun seems get lost in black croud 3:29 and feels in danger probably.
i get lost seriously))) so for me probably whole MV is fight between one side (Hyungwon\I.M.\Kihyun) and inner side or inner demons (Minhyuk\Joohon). song says that person fights with toxic love inside him but can`t win because feeling too strong, so MV probably shows it (?)
