Its just so extra sexy knowing these songs were written and produced by the members themselves. Monsta x is just THAT group.
Crescendo of course is a masterpiece and of course is Jooheon's creation, my man is a genius
Crescendo is just amazing man, I've been listening to it non stop, and yes Kihyun is an amazing vocalist.
I’m glad to see you appreciate their album production. Ever since their company allowed them to take more control over their albums, their music has evolved (not that it wasnt great before, but now we can see each individual member’s personal styles and how that works with the dynamic of the rest of the group). Its been so amazing to notice all the small details in their production, ever since the Fatal Love album, theyve truly outdone themselves with the music theyve made.
Everyone is talking about Crescendo but I'm personally team Lone Ranger (or as I call it, my cowboy-rock bop 😅). I swear I immediately and usually unknowingly gravitate toward Hyungwon produced songs at first listen, even before I know he is the one who produced them. I guess his style just really matches what I like.
I don't even need to look at the credits first, it's amazing that his songs are always my favorite
I think we will have a big year from Monsta X, with the return of Shownu this year, I think we will get a full studio album later on. I think they took a lot of creative liberties with this one (knowing that) and really experimented with different sounds and styles that I'm not sure we've heard from them. These aren't "throw away" songs by any means but yeah, a lot of these songs are really cool and really felt like a journey of a para-social relationship, or Monsta X's relationship perhaps with their fans, wondering what happens after? will you still be there, I think of you all the time but our love isn't real but then it wraps up nicely with "It's Alright" saying don't worry, no matter what I'll always come back to you with a promise. That no matter what, self-reflection and knowing that this relationship is probably a little unhealthy and toxic to an extent, that's it's okay because when we are together we are the greatest. That's my take on it anyways!! I could be way off, but Beautiful Liar really set it up, with them being chained up and looking like puppets in that one scene, being at top with people surrounding them, presumably loved, and then it seems they turn on them and at the end they are left with nothing. I don't know why but this album really makes my brain churn lol.
The fact that Jyhoney produced crescendo is amazing 🤩
Monsta X has the best rappers in the industry :D And Kihyun is probably the best vocalist (or one of) :D

Crescendo is also my favorite, Joohoney always brings something new on his productions and that makes me so happy, he likes to say he wants to do something new but with monsta x's colors. After this one Lone Ranger is another bop produced by Hyungwon, he said that song was almost chosen as the title track to this album, I like how he can highlight Kihyun's vocals here, that ending gave me chills, it feels like he did that joking and Hyungwon decided to include at the ending of the song

also Deny was produced by I.M, and the last song was Joohoney again. (and Hyungwon was also credited in Beautiful Liar), just some random info hahahaha I'm really proud of our producer line in monsta x!
Crescendo is my favorite songs . Monsta x rarely miss good album i can't wait to see SHOWNU come back from army and join the group for they're next comeback . and big up to Wonho i miss him in Monsta x
Thank you so much for this reaction. Crescendo is my fave song on the album, It's just so good, Jooheon's rap inmaculate as always and Kihyun's "let's get sexy" killed me. I love all Monsta X's albums.

Crescendo is a mix of korean traditional instruments and drill, produced by joohoney and im and yeyo (the one who always works on mx songs with honey)

Thanks for reacting to this album. MONSTA X's b-sides are amazing, it's what I enjoy the most in every comeback, especially since most of the songs are produced by themselves. I highly recommend you listen to Fatal Love album, it's a 10/10! and one of the favorites

It's interesting how Monsta X (almost) always have a song for fans on their album: It's Alright on this album, Saranghanda on Shape of Love, I Got Love on No Limit, BEBE on One of a Kind, Flavors of Love on Flavors of Love, Stand Up on Fantasia X, I Do Love You and By My Side on Take 1: Are You There?, 5:14 and I'll Be There on The Clan Pt. 2.5, Because of You on The Clan Pt. 1, etc. (and they are usually made by Jooheon (or Wonho)).
Thank you for the reaction, i really enjoyed it! It's always nice to see the discovery of Monsta X's rap and vocals! And yes, Kihyun is a great singer. He had 2 albums as soloist recdntly ; also, I.M and Joohoney produced their own songs, too, and you can listen to them & see their style when going solo. Also, i always want to listen more and concentrate on Monsta X songs just to listen to all the details and layers they have... They are awesome ;)

See? members produced songs hit way better than the songs produced by others (do not mean any bad intention there) but mx members know better what song or what type of beat hit more towards the fans who enjoy their type of music. They went for a catchy title track so they did not use joohoney's song for a title track like with GAMBLER, RUSH HOUR, or LOVE, but in this album, apart from beautiful liar and day dream, the rest of the album is produced by the members

Oh I really liked your review, helped me to understand better the album! I hadn't read the lyrics either. I liked their approach to toxic relationship honestly, it was a nice realistic fantasy.

Loving the appreciation and acknowledgement of Monsta X being the vocal kings and amazing rappers that they are
I really think that IT'S ALRIGHT was written because 2 or 3 of the members are about to enlist in the military this year while Shownu comes back. I know Kihyun and Minhyuk have to but I'm not sure if they'll send Hyungwon in or not.
My personal favorite is DENY I think. I honetly am not sure why. First listen wise yes Crescendo and Lone Ranger took it away but now I really started liking the last tracks. By most albums the songs that have a nostalgic feeling almost always happen to be my favorites. But at the same time my favorite was DAYDREAM for some time. I had a full on circle with this album. Right mow DENY is my fave but that will for sure change again or I will just not ficus that much on having a favorite song :"D
Okay, I know it's a risky thing to say but I didn't like much Beautiful Liar (and, it was again protraying unhealthy love... but I have to sadly accept that it is part of Monsta X concept... ToT). I don't like easily Monsta X tracks, But I'm still drawn to them for some reason, something makes me want to like them... (I mean they're obviously skilled.... at first I just liked Joohoney, often listening his solo work, then I.M's voice and style started to get under my skin... then Kihyun just shut me up ofc... and their choreos... well you get me) !!
Anyway, So I came here to listen to the album with you, without much expectation... not knowing the Bsides songs would be THIS suprising ! Lyrics put aside, the three first ones are sooo nice to listen ! I'll add them to my playlist after just one hearing and that's rare !
