That was a perfect reaction! Respect for the time it took to edit this video 😅Completely changing the "Flavor" of a song several times is very much a Nightwish thing, and they are very good at it. As good as the vocal performance of Marko and Floor is, Jukka gets MVP on this song for his absolutely frenetic drumming.

Musical- and tempo changes is a signature for Nightwish, often sounds like two (or more) songs in one.

This one is an example of the heavy aggressive style of Nightwish. I also love Floor's charisma and stage presence. I think her musical theater training is a bit part of her performance and expression with her body movements.

@@shannontaylor345 I understand. I am just an old school music guy. I was around when Black Sabbath invented heavy metal so I do think of Romanticide as a more typical aggressive angry metal song. You are correct the new heavy is more about faster, darker tonality, and some guttural growling.
I am somewhat on the fence about the newer so call heavy dark metal thing. Thus, this is why Nightwish is so special. Have your heard Kamelot. A symphonic metal band out of Florida. Faster, darker, heavier, but still a depth of romaticism. The singer is amazing and performs live with female guest vocalists as well. See links.

Ciao Frans, I came from a different genre (pop) but I'm very curious and I always wanted to be open mind and feed my ears and my creativity with new music and this is sooo beautiful! The play of contrasts, dark and light, clean and raspy, dynamics, rythm changes..wow!
I'm so glad you appreciate my job because I put a lot of effort and energy into it and because of my format (with a continuous first time reaction), for copyright issue I can't monetize the video (the ads you see at the beginning of the video and at the ends go to the copyright owner). Nota al margine: io scrivo in italiano perché in precedenza mi hai risposto in italiano, ma se preferisci mi attengo all'inglese for the sake of your channel 😋 Keep going girl!

    Excellent analysis, thank you.
There is so much going on in this one and it's good to see someone analysing Marco's part too.
How Floor does a gliss through such a range without you even being to discern the passaggios (should it be passaggia in Italian?) Is beyond me.
Interesting that My Arco does it to a lesser range but starting the downward gliss sooner doesn't make him end up out of sync somehow.
