    It's a dumb strategy to think that audiences are going to pay extra to go to theatres to see a movie most didn't even bother to watch on their own platform. The poor box-office numbers mean they will barely make anything after the theatres take their cut, so this is just them adding more public embarrassment to a failing brand, families and audiences in general don't trust or care about anymore.

    Funny enough someone made a comment to me a while back ago that Disney's pixar was good and different when it first came out but now all the animation styles are basically the same in a different setting. I realize that could be another thing hurting it. With 2D at least you can change the art style / the look, but with three dimensional cartoon type settings slightly harder. It seems like they're also lacking talent on top of the fact the Disney agenda. They don't want go back to 2D because it takes longer to animate and looking for a quick buck, rather than quality

    • @dogg-paws
      @dogg-paws 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You seem to be contradicting yourself--is 2D or 3D animation harder?

    • @mountain.spider
      @mountain.spider 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      2d is know to be harder. I'm not contradicting anything. I specifically pointing out the 2D you can change the art style because you're physically drawing it, versus three dimensional, cartoon type settings basically CGI there's only so many limited designs for cartoons. so while three-dimensional cartoons or anything with CGI is easier to crank out the art style is limited, which is why so many cartoons that have CGI production always look similar.
      3-D is easier to animate because you only have to mold the character and then you can parrot him around like a puppet because he's three dimensional, hes a solid character. (character, a car, trees anything) 2D you have to physically draw every single different animation from expression, movemeant, running, moving background, and face changes etc my original comment did not add this part because I thought most people knew that. it's basically like doing a flipbook by hand.
      Its not cost-effective and quick. Doing three-dimensional cartoons, less animation, less people working on every single movement, go look at how many pages of physical drawings it takes to make one character do multiple things of things for a couple seconds. 3-D. You basically make all the physical objects in a three-dimensional world and you can move it around or animate it anywhere.
      The problem with three-dimensional CGI cartoon is that the design of the characters are basically limited. You can see the pixar has a formula. CGI because of how it's designed using polygons to construct the three-dimensional solid character while easier to animate because you do it once and then you can make him do whatever you want, the art style is limited. a good example of comic books they can draw hyper realistic, super detailed characters or they can make the characters cartoony or they can focus on the background and the foreground. Even the new Spider-Man into the spider verse is a three-dimensional cartoon and it looks like it was developed by Pixar and I believe it was. They can stylize a bit, but it always has a three dimensional look that's similar to monsters Inc. or all the previous stuff. Like molded putty because that's exactly what it is.
      It's much more easier to crank out because everything solid. Once you construct the background, you can reuse it everywhere. You cannot do that with 2-D physical drawings. You would have to re add it, in every frame.@@dogg-paws

      Gonna have to disagree there--the 1989 Disney film has stronger production and execution than any other adaptation. What didn't you like about it?
      You're gonna have to explain "genre and age variety" too. Disney has plenty of "genre and age variety", even now--they just haven't been good content. You're not making any sense.

    Disney has chosen to push "the message" above all else. Profitability tops that list IMO. Woke flop after flop,yet they continue to dig new bottom,with the same ol' DEI mediocrity bllsht,and the terrible writing and performances that comes with it. They've chosen to ignore millions of fans,the paying customers who actually care about these once glorious franchises that've been systematically destroyed by woke Hollyweird studio's with impunity. That ESG $ must be quite large.

    I have to disagree with Ryan. This poor performance has nothing to do with Disney's progressive political agenda and everything to do with the simple fact that everybody who wanted to see these movies already saw them last year on Disney +.
    The people going to see it do so either wanting to see it on the big screen in an empty theater or they dropped the kids off at the theater for two hours of free baby sitting while they run errands.

    Why would Disney think releasing these old movies to theaters was going to make them money. First, everyone has already seen these movies that wanted to see these movies. Second, why would people pay to see them when they’ve been on the internet since they came out on D+. What Disney has done is put the cart before the horse, by releasing these movies on D+ and then deciding to put them into theaters is show just how stupid the leaders at Disney really are. You can’t give something away for basically free and when that fails, start charging people for those bongs they didn’t want in the first place.
