- This video is my first attempt on Garong Technique. I did not really know how to play this style of fishing but always wanted to give it a shot (I’m just lazy). I must say, its pretty chill and fun. I did not expect to land 4 in one day and burst a few at the same time.
Lesson learned after this session.
My Line is underpowered (0.3mm and above are the recommended diam)
Lifting the rod higher when you hook a fish will increase your chance of landing it
Standing while fighting the fish also helps
Wear non-slip shoes on slope (Don’t die young)
Wear polarize sunglasses to better observe the marker (White float)
Lastly, be patient

garong in indonesia words means "thief that rob your house", so basically it means those hook is so nasty that it catch everything (i guess). if anyone want to check there is a channel name "opang mancing" that specialized on fishing rabbitfish with garong technique, he has a lot of video with it.
