Happy Birthday to me! We've reached the month and year I was born 😂 I can't be the only one to wonder just what was happening in the world and family wise at those moments? Interesting to see how the world was and how it has changed within your own lifetime. Bert "you know what I mean" Tilsley was absent from the end of April until a brief appearance in mid July. The actor then suffered a stroke, losing the use of his left arm, thankfully losing "you know what I mean" from his vocabulary, and sadly slowing him down. He reappeared in December 1982.
Peter was arrested in 81 for exposing himself in a toilet and again for public indecency, he had 2 trials, shortly after he had a stroke, which affected his left side, which is covered in a later storyline, a lot of these storylines were filmed months in advance
He was a great character, and had Peter not become so ill and pass away I think that Ivy would have been a much different character in later years as Bert kept her in check.
