  • In this video I show you how to make Fish Hydrolysate in only 2 weeks!... This is very different from the JADAM fish fertilizer from a previous video that takes 3-6 months...this stuff DOES NOT USE LEAF MOULD.. this stuff is ready much faster so its best to make both and plan on using the JADAM fish fertilizer for next year and this fish hydrolysate for this year....

    How long exactly does it stay shelf stable for an how could you extend that period ?

    • @gardenlikeaviking

      once it is digested and smells somewhat pleasant almost like tomato juice... then it can be bottled and sit on the shelf for at least a year or more if need be...it doesn't change much from that point on

      It probably varies a little. You can send it to third party labs. I know with growing mushrooms changing little things like light setups changes what compounds are found in the plant like cordycepin compound in cordycep militaris.

    Starts at 2:44 , how to actually do it. Cut the fish, blend it with water in a blender, add it to 5 gallon bucket. New step, take 2 cups of molases put it in blender with water.. blend, add to the same 5 gallon bucket with fish already in, then add 2 times the volume of the water ( rain water) fitting in that blender. Then add lactic acid bacteria serum ( he has previous video)
    takes 2 weeks to be done.

    One of the best fertilizers i accidentally msde was about a decade ago when i was still young and spaz-minded. Had a giant tote outside that happened to collect rain water from its location, and when id be all stoned standing outside I'd frequently piss in it.
    I had some expired tilapia filets that i threw in there for whatever reason 😂
    Left it for a few months before i thought "i should dump that stuff" and noticed there was zero smell. Dumped it into some geranium pots and they EXPLODED with dark green foliage in a matter of 2-3 weeks. Obviously all the piss probably made it high nitrogen which provided those monster vegetative growths but it was super cool and eye opening when i was only like 23 yrs old

    And the light shines again. Very succinct reply and much appreciated.
    The whole "aerobic vs anaerobic" banter has been causing me to fear using some of
    my home made compost and fert brews. Some gardeners say use anaerobics and many warn not to for fear
    of infecting plants with evil bacteria. I will lean on your understanding that good and bad bacteria
    work in concert to achieve balance. As you stated there is much yet unknown about it. Therefore I
    will tread lightly in this matter awaiting further discovery.
    Thanks again for your prompt reply.

We're prepping and growing food with a small group of foreigners and getting ready for what's coming. You're truly a blessing brother. Thanks for this great short and super informative video. Here, most farmers are buying expensive fertilizer. Oh man if they knew how much these natural fertilizers would save them and improve their soil microbes and plant growth. sounds like my kind of place brother!!... in your situation it makes sense to learn all these skills now while the info is freely available to make every single one of your own inputs and purchase nothing from companies... our ancestors did this for thousands of years without killing the soil and we've basically killed the soil in 60 years of ag farming!

    • @enochquran

      @@gardenlikeaviking Absolutely well said bro! I'm hoping to teach these concepts to the pueblo and folks interested here next to the Amazon. There's a lot of interest in this kind of stuff. Right now we're starting our garden beds and I feel this will really help with our yields, and also looking forward to seeing how it works for our tropical fruit trees. We will have mangos, guanábana, soursop, bananas, passion fruit, coconut, pan de árbol, jackfruit, apple, oranges, lemons, lucuma, camu camu, most common veggies, watermelons, cantaloupe, and will be learning to germinate blueberries and strawberries.
      One question I have is do you recommend putting a thick layer of saw dust (or fine wood chips) on the bottom of our garden beds topped off with black soil ? I saw a video that recommend this

    • @garthwunsch
      @garthwunsch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@enochquran re sawdust… that sounds like someone is trying to imitate Hūgelkultur? But I don’t believe that will work. The fine wood will compact and go anaerobic.

    • @enochquran
      @enochquran ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@garthwunsch would you recommend true logs instead?

    • @garthwunsch
      @garthwunsch ปีที่แล้ว

      @@enochquran rotting logs and branches are a good base. I used this method but not as a mound. I dug the bed down an even depth, stored the top layer of grass sod separately, laid the logs in, put the sod back upside down (grass dies when you do this) then washed the soil from sod down into the wood layer, then put the subsoil back on the sod layer and added compost on top. Has been working very well. The rotting logs act as a water sponge and eventually release nutrients.

    Also good to know that, if you are making this (or really any brew) in the wintertime, let your rainwater warm up a bit before you use it. I made a batch today and because the pond water was so cold the Blackstrap wouldn't "froth up" and become aerated. That air doesnt seem like much but I am sure it helps a bit to kick start the process a bit and get the labs primed up.

    I just recently found your channel, thank you for sharing the knowledge. I have been been watching your videos like a series on Netflix. My question is I watch your videos on making JDAM, bloom fertilizer etc. How do you store all of these things. Foe example, you said the fish emulsion has a great shelf life. I guess some are not stored in the fridge? Can you put out so many positive vibes in the universe, I have no doubt you get it back tenfold. Thanks….

    Awesome video! I’m an avid fisherman and definitely trying this out this year on the peppers and tomatoes.
    What do you think about pressure sealing/canning this stuff would it make a difference really with shelf life?

    This seems like a great thing to do with the invasive fish in Florida.

    I was wondering if any type of fish works?
    Does it matter with scales or not?

    Your videos are informative. I did try this. Its been exactly a month for today but I still see fish skin and also it is still like water not semi (thick liquid) what else can I add to it to make the process faster. I live in NC and the temperatures are 68-95f in range .
