Great vid. I’m fed up watching TH-cam instructors who teach what tour players do. For those of us who haven’t time to do much practice and who have less mobility than we used to have we have no chance of replicating what they teach. I like the way you cater for golfers at all levels.

    Danny,
I Can’t tell you how happy this video has made me.
I’m 78 with a hip replacement and a shed load of injuries and consequently a serious loss of club head speed.
My irons are 63 mph and my driver 75 mph.
I tried this type of release and my club speed increased by over 10 mph, but was told by a golf pro to stop doing it as it was too handsy, and it would be better if I just stuck to my short punt down the middle.
It may look better and be more accurate, but it sure isn’t fun hitting five irons when everybody else is hitting pitching wedges.
You’ve really inspired my and I’m off to the front lawn to try it out and annoy the neighbours at the same time. 😀
Looking forward to your next senior video.

This is by far the most helpful golf video I have ever watched. Following Danny's simple method has restored my golf to winning ways - my playing partners are amazed. Swing "through" the ball is so so important and these exercises have got me back to the simple formula for success. Totally brilliant and yet the method is so easy to follow.

This video is the best you have ever done. I saw the very elderly gent with his short swing and thought I will try that. It worked. It’s not so much not being able to turn into a backswing as being able to get back down again and remain on track. Many thanks. I am getting 140 yards out of a wedge and hitting it straight. I used to be all over the place. BH.

I wish I got this lesson years ago. Ive spent years trying to time the open roll over to close head golf swing. My handicap is 10 but it requires lots of practice and this tennis racket swing is so much easier and I am hitting the ball longer and very solid for 2 weeks now and I feel like a much more athletic golfer even at age 78. granted I used to hit it further when I was younger. I was blaming too many things on my age, and doing a lot of shoving. I love this and I can't thank you enough. I also liked the video of keeping your lower body more relaxed and not stiff and tense. I've had 3 back surgeries and 2 knee replacements and I'm shooting in the low to middle and high 80s if the putting is off, thanks to you!!

Thanks Danny, like most folk I haven't been getting any golf in for the last 7 weeks but I have been watching your videos - especially the seniors golf swing instructions and on my first day back this Wednesday I managed to hit the longest straightest drives for years! I had developed an "armsy" swing with my right shoulder leading the downswing that produced weak fading shots off the tee, my new "one piece" swing is hitting the ball 20 - 30 yards further with NO FADE! Off 23 at present but confident this will come down quickly in the next few months, love your simple approach and it really worked for me - looking forward to a one to one instruction with you next time I'm in the Canterbury area.

I have really been helped by you so much. I’m hitting the ball solid again with fairly good consistency. I’m 73. Have had two rotary cup surgery so when your lesson on dropping your right foot back and flaring to the right and the backswing by hinging ( tennis racket) and swing from the inside and finish high ( between your head and your shoulder) I have been hitting the ball with a draw and have gain distance with every club. That method allows you to really get a big turn with no stress and yes dropping the right foot does start the downswing properly which allows you to so easily throw the club down and create speed. I love your teaching in chipping, pitching , bunker play and driving the ball. But this one seems so different??
What I’m seeing here is “dance to golf “which puts so much motion in the swing it’s a timing night mare. Other teachers have been teaching this to seniors and but it just has so many moving parts compared to the first method.
    Signed confessed.

Love how you brought clips of Old Man Pete as he is an inspiration. The pointers play well into what I deal with on every swing - not enough rotation on the downswing, staying weight back. The reason why I do is simple - I don't have left (lead) foot stability to make the swing transition without having pain in my left foot due to the injuries sustained in '16. The pointers here will help me overcome that issue. Thanks for providing great info that the average golfer can use to improve their game while keeping it fun and challenging.

Hi Danny, really like this video , I agree with the other comments guys have put on, in that method does not have to be based on Tour Pro swings which probably accounts for 0.001% of all golfers.
At 63 I have a sore back due to slipped discs 10 years ago. In 2005 I was off 6.3 Hcp now drifted out to 18.9
The back is fine for the first 1-12 holes but then stiffens up gradually so by 17-18 I am struggling sometimes to hit the ball at all, let alone T Shots and Fairways, and after 20+ Rounds there is a pattern where my scores gradually worsen later in the round.
Tried softer shafts and slowing my tempo but that loses me a lot of distance and control.
Have tried this method and it works 100%.
Now in my favourites and I watch all of your videos!

I’m following Liam and the golfmates and have to admit that I’m stunned when I see how good OMP is playing. He’s giving guys that could be his son or even grandson a run for their money. Love how you teach “around” limitations because imo that’s what a good pro should do. Thx Danny. Great video and it has made a huge difference for me. I spent the lockdown in my garden practising to your vids with airflow balls. Since I got back on the course my shots have been longer, straighter and I have shot my best ever scores . With a 21 hcp I was struggling to keep up with before, I scored 13 and 16 over on my last 2 outings. The key for me was your description here of weight transfer - once I got that my swing felt almost automatic for the first time. Now I just need to keep it up.

Hey Danny. What a great lesson! OMP - champion! I'm only 68, but have chronic back pain and was considering the possibility of not being able to play. After watching your video, and another of OMP I tried implementing the modified swing during a round with mates, and couldn't believe the difference - virtually painless throughout and after the game, without a considerable loss of distance - it'll do me. Murray from down under.

My varifocal glasses are a necessity but do cause problems as I am aware that I am looking down at the ball and my chin is geting more towards my chest and affecting my mobility and swing. I am definately going to try your drill and hope it works. Glad I can now say that I can try it on the course this afternoon !! Stay safe

Great video I have really bad back issues in my lower had my last back op in February I am really struggling with my swing. My coach at the moment doesn't realise how bad my back is all he get on about is Rory and tries to make me swing like him which is causing me several problems with pain. I am definitely going to find a different coach. I will definitely take your tips to the range and practice them in the mean time, becaus at the moment I am so close to giving the game up for good. Anyway great video brilliant tips keep up the good work.

I watch a variety of golf videos - you are one of my favorites instructors. This particular video got me wondering WHO is actually watching golf TH-cam videos? Some instructors do show giving lessons - but the student is almost always very young, athletic, and practicing a lot. But my guess this is not the predominate demographic watching golf videos. More likely it is someone is who is a bit older, who doesn't possess the highest skill level - or flexibility and doesn't have the time or energy to practice every day. You are actually rare amongst the most popular instructors in addressing this group (me). Most instruction is simply watching a very good player promoting their particular swing theory and techniques. And while they make sense - and it looks like he/she can certainly execute them well - they simply do not help the average golfer actually get better. I would suggest (as you have in this video) that instructors who are looking to build their channels target the people who are actually watching.

Thanks Danny. I am over 65 and an ex front row forward. I followed a "Guru" who said he promoted a pain
free swing. I ended up with a back injury thanks to him. I would be interested to know what your
thoughts are on the takeaway for us with less mobility. The backward bend of the right wrists tends to
get you swing on a better plane.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think if you start with generating speed first by mobilising the wrists it’s a great starting point. The swing naturally becomes less wristy when the arms come in to the swing and then the rest of the body.
Basically the less you can move the bigger muscles the more you have to move the smaller ones

I went and hit a few of those plastic practise wiffle/ golf ball things around the backyard with a 7 iron before, using your tips and was swingin pretty well and making good contact. If I can hit a real ball that well I'll be happy. I had it all wrong and was bring my right foot out further toward the ball to try and open my stance in an attempt to try and put less pressure on my back by having the hip turn part way completed but it was probably having the exact opposite effect of what I was trying to achieve (pretty standard for me lol) and probably made my slice worse to boot lol. Thanks for the tips :-)

Another great video lesson. Your lessons have helped me become more consistent which enables me to attack each hole with a plan. Age has cost me some distance though and I need to hit it farther to get to the next level. Hard to make pars with long irons and hybrids.
