I would recommend not soldering something like a wire to a mlcc as they are prone to became a crack which acts as a time bomb.

I seem to recall big clive mentioning you should always check these cheap china usb cables before assuming red is positive and black is negative. They are known to be reversed at times.

I did something kind of like this with my old apple tv. The psu in it failed and instead of paying $100 for a new psu i opted to solder a usb cable to the vin then power it with an apple charging block.

Could you have used a small zip tie as a strain relief, so you don't accidentally rip the cable out?

Its is my own item that just sits on the kitchen counter and rarely gets moved. If it was a customers, then I would have done it.

I have a Samsung wireless charger with fan. It still overheats and shuts down. POS! 🤣 Nice phone at least its not an apple. Jk apple fans. 😝
