Blessed Pius IX is the ultimate modern Catholic knight singularly because of a deep intuition and practicality to understand the various nuances of and then ultimately deal with all the Liberalism, the synthesis of all heresies, as a practical man who understands the environment he lives in - just like any other reasonable person would - instead of take on exteriorly or falsely internal way a medieval affect or take on even ancient, but true and natural principles, but use such principles, no matter how earthy and medieval they seem to any Liberal, to find a way to communicate and reason to a person that these are the Truth. This is his charism which we should all realize in ourselves, and it is one that you can feel and use viscerally instead of being brainwashed by so many religious authorities and teachers in the Church to learn and teach Catholic teaching. You don't have to be controlled and brainwashed like so many inept teachers of the Church do in universities here in America, but understand and feel these without having to surrender your mind and take on one pre-packaged for you like my experience at Catholic University of America.

Praises to you, most blessed Pius IX, Bishop of Rome and Servant of the Servants of God.
Marked by the trials of the aftermath of France's scourge upon Europe, your Pontificate would be the longest served since that of Saint Peter, and throughout you would tirelessly champion the long-held ways of Europe in the face of gripping nationalism and modernity.
As Supreme Pontiff, you would oversee the convention of the First Vatican Council, where Papal Infallibility would be declared, and the central government of the Papacy and the Catholic Church would be formalized upon the Vatican within Rome.
Even despite the usurpation of your temporal power by the irreverent Italian nationalists, your faith and perseverance would ensure the survival of the Holy See well into the 20th century.
O Holy Father, the time has come for the pillars of your faith to once more bear the sacred being of your papacy.
Can you take upon your shoulders the will of God to lead the faithful?
Can you spread the light of His Holy Mother Church against the darkness that grips this age?
Can you build a civilization that stands the test of time?

Excellent lecture on Bl. Pius IX., thank you. .... The social and political cultural currents discussed read like a twenty-first century news program or debate. This is why I believe Catholicism can not be effectively taught by Scripture alone; which is a protest ant boundary. You don't need 4 years of college to weave the first principles of Western History, psychology/theology and Biology with some dozen or so key Catholic Bible passages and thereby make the more stable case. A 'one leg' stool can not stand.

Our Lord decides who'll get canonized and when. He knows what he's doing. But I feel a little sad knowing that he's still waiting for the honor of the altars when even Pope Paul VI already has it.

It was kind of someone to like my comment. But I worded it incorrectly. I feel sad because Blessed Pope Pius IX is still waiting to get canonized when Pope Paul VI has already been canonized. I've always thought that for anyone to qualify for canonization, a potential saint needs a heroic degree of each virtue. But John Paul II was hardly heroically prudent when he chaired the interreligious prayer meetings in Assisi. I can't call Paul VI heroically virtuous when I know that he let Archbishop Bugnini and his committee invent the Novus Ordo liturgy when I believe it should be abolished.

In 1460 Pius II felt impelled to issue his now-famous Bulla, Execrabilis, on February 15th. All Roman Catholics should read this and then you will know what they tried to do at Vatican I but failed! Sadly Vatican II happened, which is INVALID! As Church Militants we have the duty to spread the truth and the errs of V-II. Read and educate yourselves and return to the tradition of the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church

Gautherot, commenting on the well known passage which occurs in two different letters of Pius IX, where the Pope, signalises Freemasonry as the Synagogue of Satan, which is arraying it's "army in opposition to the Church of Christ", describes Freemasonry as a synthesis of all the heresies, and as it were, the meeting together of all uprisings of man against God"; and a kind of "mobilisation of all powers of evil against those of God".

So Pius IX reality was expressed in his encyclical "Syllabus of errors"?
Makes me wonder about the realism of Rao's Ph.D.

Wow the reality of Pius the 9th shows he was a Freemason. To the core. I always remember you are judged by the friends you keep. He invited not the liberals, but Jews back into the countries once they were banned from!!! Very Important.

I once heard a story regarding Pius IX stepping on the head of the one orthodox patriarch who responded to Vatican I's call when he knelt to kiss Pius' shoe. Does anyone know this to be true? After listening to the conference I cannot conceive it...

None of the Orthodox Bishops (and by extension Patriachs of the other sees) came to The First Vatican Council so NO!

    • @johnnotrealname8168
      @johnnotrealname8168 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Further than that why would the other Patriarchs try to kiss the Popes feet? That is more unbelievable than Papa Pio Nono putting his feet on their head.

The history is different. A melkite patriarch who was denying the Dogma of infallibility, after Vat.1, knelled in front of Pius IX, who placed his knee on the patriarch's shoulder, saying: "Testa dura" (You're headstrong). That you see on Parry (1999), p. 313. See also the account given by Zoghby (1998), p. 83.

@@johnnotrealname8168 Well, so search about Gregory II Hanna Youssef-Sayour (1823 - 1897), patriarch of Antioch on the Melkite Church from 1864 - 1897. It really occurred. Gregory II was a precursor of interconfessional dialogue. I don't disagree about this action of Pope, contrary, I think that a bishop who was going to deny a Dogma must be alerted by the Pope, as it occurred. Please, look "Profiles of the Eastern Churches: The Melkite Greek Catholic Church". ONE Magazine: A publication of CNEWA. CNEWA (Catholic Near East Welfare Association), it would introduce you this theme

Edguardo Mortara. Say his name. Never forget. Pius IX is the evil $!*$ that kidnapped a six‐year old from loving Jewish parents all because the catholic maid had sprinkled some water on the kid's forehead. Unforgivable. You can "beautify" him all you want. Sainthood is a nice gesture, but truth be told, he would rather appreciate an air conditioner, where he's currently at.

Jewish parents dont have the one true Faith so his chance of apostatizing was very high. Understanding the consequence of dying as an apostate, Pius IX did absolutely the correct thing.
